A truly empowering book for women

If you happen to be anywhere near menopause and want to lose weight, you are definitely in the right place. If you have any other goal you want to achieve, you are also in the right place.
I have been following Pahla’s YouTube channel for 2 years. I use her workout videos daily and listen to her weekly podcast. All of it, just like this book, is well thought out, thoroughly researched and professionally delivered.
The tools described in the book are explained in her other formats, but this book breaks it all down into a process with examples and explanations that helped me really get the journaling process.
Pahla narrates this book herself and did an amazing job. I can’t imagine it in any other voice.

Pahla B gets me!

I found Pahla B on YouTube during a search of exercises for women over 50 - a search I never thought I'd have to do, but, here we are. I hit age 49, and like a switch was flipped, I gained weight, I was tired, foggy, frustrated. Everything on and in my body was changing, even though nothing I was doing did - I wasn't eating more than usual, I wasn't exercising less than usual. I figured I was doing something wrong. Then, almost like a fairy Godmother, Pahla entered my life. She changed my perspective - I WASN'T doing anything wrong, but I WAS changing, and she was there to help us "women of a certain age" navigate these changes. DO check out her YouTube videos - the exercises are gentle, effective, varied, and her stories she shares, along with her advice, tips and tricks, are reaffirming and positive. She has an uplifting personality, and her messages are realistic and NEEDED; I find my head nodding in agreement, along with multiple audible "mmmhmmm!"s. I was THRILLED that she wrote a book. I am over halfway through and it was exactly what I expected - kind, honest, bare, researched, lived, truthful and so, SO relatable. She gets it. She's been there. She IS there, and will be there on this on-going journey. Highly recommend the book, her social platforms, her newsletters, and her short-videos. She's the life-journey best friend I didn't know I needed.

Not what I expected

This book would be better titled as ‘How to rethink weight and exercise through menopause’

I got this book as a support to educate and understand menopause and it’s symptoms overall. It came highly recommended.

However, I feel and find this book to be about weight and diet and food choices.

It appears to be more of a memoir for an author who has been obsessed about diet, exercise her whole life and menopause has been a rude awakening in this area.

If weight gain is your sole concern in menopause. Then this book is for you.
