A #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Beloved actress, Food Network personality, and New York Times bestselling author Valerie Bertinelli reflects on life at sixty and beyond.

Behind the curtain of her happy on-screen persona, Valerie Bertinelli’s life has been no easy ride, especially when it comes to her own self-image and self-worth. She waged a war against herself for years, learning to equate her value to her appearance as a child star on One Day at a Time and punishing herself in order to fit into the unachievable Hollywood mold. She struggled to make her marriage to Eddie Van Halen—the true love of her life—work, despite all the rifts the rock-star lifestyle created between them. She then watched her son follow in his father’s footsteps, right up onto the stage of Van Halen concerts, and begin his own music career. And like so many women, she cared for her parents as their health declined and saw the roles of parent and child reverse. Through mourning the loss of her parents, discovering more about her family’s past, and realizing how short life really is when she and her son lost Eddie, Valerie finally said, “Enough already!” to a lifelong battle with the scale and found a new path forward to joy and connection. Despite hardships and the pressures of the media industry to be something she’s not, Valerie is, at last, accepting herself: she knows who she is, has discovered her self-worth, and has learned how to prioritize her health and happiness over her weight. With an intimate look into her insecurities, heartbreaks, losses, triumphs, and revelations, Enough Already is the story of Valerie’s sometimes humorous, sometimes raw, but always honest journey to love herself and find joy in the everyday, in family, and in the food and memories we share.

“This thoughtful, bighearted book is sure to be a hit with Bertinelli fans and those with an appetite for stories of hard-won self-acceptance. A warmly intimate memoir.”

Kirkus Reviews

“In a series of brutally frank essays, Bertinelli looks back on the emotional struggles and triumphs of her life. By turns raw and inspiring, this contains a little bit of wisdom for everyone.”

Love it

I loved how real and personal Valerie is with this book. I especially love that it was her voice in the audible book. It really made a difference in feeling what she feels. There were so many relatable stories. Despite her fame , she comes off as a very real , very honest and very grounded person. She’s been in my life through TV for my whole 54 years of life . I especially thank her for turning me on to her sons music. Wolfe is incredibly talented. I’m a fan.

Loved it!

I loved this book. I think any woman would enjoy how genuine Valerie is and how open she is with her trials through life. This touches on so many issues women face and it is refreshing to hear someone say "Enough Already" you are enough! Love yourself and the rest will come!

Revealing

An honest reflection of a life lived so far and a plan to focus more on the love she has with her family (past and present, those alive and those whose souls are still present) and friends and finally coming to terms with her own self worth.

Soulful 😁

I saw several interviews of Valerie Bertinelli on tv speaking of her book and the way she comes across on tv is so special. I’ve known of her since I was a child watching her on tv. She makes you feel like an old friend that is talking straight to your heart during her book promotion interviews, which peaked my interest to find and listen to her story.

I wish Valerie could narrate every other audio book I read, she is just that good. I’m sure when you’re telling your own story it also comes with more added ease. During the story I found myself laughing at times, sad at others when her story brings up sad feelings, and crying, but not in a negative way- more cathartic. It reminds you we are all the same and have the same hopes and fears as everyone else. Very highly recommend to everyone.

Finally Feeling At Peace

I have listened to Valerie’s book Enough Already each day on my hour ride to work and my hour ride home. I found myself leaving earlier (on both sides of the trip) and driving much slower just to be able to hear one more little bit. Tonight I finished her book while fixing dinner (something I also love doing…cooking) and I am finding myself reflecting on all that resonated with me and how much resonated with me. Her book has prompted me to get back to my gratitude journal; my meditation; my workouts; and to me. I have a wonderful supportive man in my life and a family I have not been able to see because of this damn pandemic but look forward to the celebrating we will do when we can. I am looking forward to meeting my first grandchild in May and to all the possibilities that lie ahead.
Thank you Valerie for putting yourself out there and sharing so much of you and your family. You have helped make a difference for me and my family.
The only way I know to end this is, “pizza please.” ♥️
