Publisher's summary

Winner of The British Book Awards 2023 Overall Book of the Year

Menopause affects every woman, and yet so many approach it with shame, fear, misinformation or silence.

Why is no one talking about this? Who has the correct information? And how can we get it?

That’s how this book has come about. We are going to tell you the truth, so you can make an informed decision about your life and your body … mic drop.

For too long, women have had to keep quiet about the menopause – its onset, its symptoms, its treatments – and what it means for us. Menopausing will build an empowered, supportive community to break this terrible silence once and for all. By exploring and explaining the science, debunking damaging myths, and smashing the taboos around the perimenopause and menopause, this book will equip women to make the most informed decisions about their health… and their lives.

Menopausing will also celebrate the sharing of stories, enabling women to feel less alone and more understood, and talk openly and positively about menopause.

  • No more scaremongering: just evidence-based info
  • No shame: real women, real menopause stories, real empathy, real community
  • Honest, no-holds-barred advice: Dry vagina? Zero sex drive? Hair loss? We’ve got it covered
  • The start of a movement: to get everyone talking about the menopause in every home, GP surgery and workspace

I am in tears.

Buy EVERY WOMAN YOU KNOW, this book.
I’ve never felt so alone as I did while listening to Davina guide me through my life as a broken person with an evil uterus.
My hormones hated me. My body is broken. I’ve found a name for my issues since I hit puberty! I’ve travelled this journey completely alone as no one I’ve known has had these issues.
I currently do not have access to good healthcare and we are paying through the nose for it!!!!
But I’m ready to fight and to start living.
Even if I have to throw (with a deep elbow to its gut) my life as it stands today, on its head, I’m ready.
Existing through each of my 24hrs has come to an end.
Davina, Thank you.

A Must Read For Every Owner or Previous Owner of a Uterus

This book is a godsend and really helped me to better understand what I’m dealing with and how to meet it head on. It empowered me with information, dispelled myths, made me laugh, and I felt so seen listening to the Introduction that I cried. Davina and all of the narrators do a beautiful job of making this book feel much like a visit with a caring and witty friend. I have already recommended it to all of my friends over 38. 10/10! I know I will be going back to listen again as i continue on this journey.

I realized I was in perimenopause at 40. I’m 44 now and, with the encouragement of this book, just started HRT this week. There is hope. Love to all as you bloom into your Second Spring! Get. This. Book.

Strongly Recommend

I learned so much from this book, as I’m going through menopause right now I’m 48 years old and I especially loved that hormone replacement therapy section where she delves deep into the types of HRT the side effects and natural alternatives if you are starting perimenopause or if you are in menopause I definitely recommend this book.

Not for me at all

It feels like the author is a cheerleader for HRT, this might be a great thing for many women but it leaves out the women who can’t take HRT because of breast cancer history. You are leaving out a large portion of women and HRT doesn’t solve all your problems even if you take it.
