Publisher's summary

Dr. Christiane Northrup's number-one New York Times best seller The Wisdom of Menopause has inspired more than a million women with a dramatically new vision of midlife - and will continue to do so for generations to come. As Dr. Northrup has championed, the "change" is not simply a collection of physical symptoms to be "fixed", but a mind-body revolution that brings the greatest opportunity for growth since adolescence. The choices a woman makes now - from the quality of her relationships to the quality of her diet - have the power to secure vibrant health and well-being for the rest of her life.

Now completely revised, this groundbreaking classic draws on the current research and medical advances in women's health, and includes: a new section on sex after 50 - and how, if need be, you can rejuvenate your sex life; updated mammogram guidelines - and how thermography improves breast health; the latest on the glycemic index, optimal blood sugar levels, and ways to prevent diabetes; dietary guidelines revealing that hidden sugar - not dietary fat - is the main culprit in heart disease, cancer, and obesity; all you need to know about perimenopause and why it's critical to your well-being; a vital program for ensuring pelvic health during and after menopause; and strategies to combat osteoporosis and strengthen bones for life. With this trusted resource, Dr. Christiane Northrup shows that women can make menopause a time of personal empowerment - emerging wiser, healthier, and stronger in both mind and body than ever before.

Some of the nutritional advise need scientific backing

I like the stories and audio delivery. Some of the nutritional advise as purely anecdotal. It would be nice to have more scientific basis for advise on a book if this type

Great info but…

This book is loaded with fabulous information and I only wish that Dr. Northrup would have read the entire book rather than the annoying British narrator. It was incredibly distracting from the very important, valuable and appreciated constant.

A must listen for all women

Other than the annoying British accent by the narrator if you can get past that then this book is for you, because information is imperative for women 🙏🏼

Outstanding!!

I love this book! it is the longest book I've ever listened to, but it was so worth it. This book is filled with valuable and detailed information about perimenopause and menopause. I feel validated and like I'm not alone. Dr Northrup has a heart for women. I will be getting a print copy to have as a reference guide, although a very thorough PDF is provided. I am not a fan of Big Pharma, so all of the wonderful information about holistic and all natural ways to support my health was exciting to hear. I will be listening to parts of the book again. Thank you, Dr Northrup!

Must read BEFORE menopause!

Excellent book that explains so much! Mid life is awesome! One thought: what if we stopped worrying about equity (which does not exist anyways) and asked for what is best for our lives? What if we asked the universe for things that support us as women and didn't compare it to anything? For instance, I'd love support financially and emotionally to go back to school at 50, and from this book, it's the perfect time for us to do it! Don't give others power over your life & don't focus on the past, create your new future with that peak of energy!

Valioso

Some info helpful, some misleading or even harmful

The first part of the book had some wonderful insight that I resonated with. I started to lose a connection to the material when the author began implying that we are responsible for all our diseases based on whether we’ve properly resolved certain mental or emotional conditions. While there’s definitely a mind-body connection, I don’t think it’s that simple. And, it can lead to guilt, shame, and unrealistic expectations of how to “cure” oneself. I was also incredibly disappointed to later find out the author is a conspiracy theorist and spreader of dangerous misinformation about vaccines.
