Publisher's Summary

Imagine how different your life would be if you could heal your metabolic damage, help reverse prediabetes, and fight PCOS, simply by changing what you eat.

Is this really possible through dietary and lifestyle intervention? Can you genuinely improve insulin sensitivity just by altering what’s on your plate? In my experience you can, and not only that, it’s actually the most effective way to do it.

Alongside this, you can also finally lose that stubborn belly fat, energize your body, improve concentration levels, and sleep more soundly. Just by making a small change to your eating habits. When it comes to health, it’s essentially the food, and it always has been.

Simon Keller is a nutritionist who specializes in all forms human physiology and peak performance. However it wasn’t until leaving University life and entering into the ‘real world’ did he start to understand how these theoretical topics worked in a practical sense - through 10 years of training and consulting clients within his health and wellness facility in London.

In this insightful and functional book, Keller gives readers a firsthand look into the scientific considerations regarding Insulin Resistance, as well as a practical guide on how to:

  • Tell if you are indeed insulin resistant - what are the warming signs
  • Become aware of the specific conditions caused by metabolic damage
  • Understand the implications excess insulin can have on PCOS
  • The potential infertility risks of not sorting out these issues
  • Truly understanding the Glycemic Load impact of the foods we eat
  • How to get portion sizes & meal frequency right for optimal blood sugar control
  • Example meal plans and recipes to reduce insulin resistance
  • Exercise protocols to re-sensitize skeletal muscle to the effects of insulin once again

… and much more.

Quick, easy, and informative

Very helpful book!! Title is deceiving! Not a fad diet but a scientific explanation of what our bodies need and how it processes foods. Switching to this way of eating takes getting used to but IS life changing!

Great Plan that works

It is extremely easy to follow and you can eat any foods that you want so long as you adhere to the guidelines of when, how much, and what to eat it with. I recommend this to anyone who is trying to lose weight, loves carbs, and always feels hungry on a diet. It is a simple way to change your way of eating without giving up the foods you love.

Inspirational & helpful(:

This book has great info on what insulin resistance is and how the body's insulin production responds to what we eat. Following the diet is easy because there is lots of information on different foods and how to combine them. A plus is that weight loss comes naturally as a by-product of controlling insulin. I lost 10 pounds in 5 weeks! I highly recommend this book to anyone who has been diagnosed with or suspects that they may be insulin resistant.

Insulin-Resistance Diet

The previous person must not have really wanted to try the diet just bash the rest of us down.
This diet does work and I have lost on it. It is the easiest one that I have followed and it makes sense if you really think about it.

Incredibly useful

This is a very helpful book. It contains very good information about how and why it is often hard for many (including myself) to loose weight and keep it off. I have begun using their method and the results are really amazing! I have begun loosing weight and unlike in the past, I seem to have more energy than before---the afternoon blahs seem to be gone! I would definitely recommend it!

Overnight success

Overall I have enjoyed listening this book and now I realize how much I did not understand about this issue. I am glad I had the opportunity to learn better life skills through this book. Would I recommend this book to other people? Yes I would including friends and family..I absolutely think this is great book.I received this book at a discount in exchange for my honest, unbiased review. All opinions are my own and they are not influenced by anyone but myself.

Awesome Recipes

For myself, I thought this was JUST a recipe book with maybe a blurb about what PCOS was, and so I only bought this for the recipes. That makes the cons not that substantial to me personally as I have no intention of following the meal plan, and also have a well equipped kitchen.
