Publisher's Summary

According to recent surveys, the average real estate agent makes less than $10,000 a year, and close to 90 percent of new agents will not last more than two years in the business. Fewer than 10 percent of agents will make over $100,000, and the majority who do have been in the business for decades. The average real estate agent sells 12 homes a year, and for agents who are just starting out, that number is less than four. In 2012 Dan Lesniak used a unique strategy to upend the industry trends. In his first year in real estate, Dan had over 36 transactions totaling over $22 million in sold volume, making him one of the most successful rookie real estate agents ever. He did this by taking over one of the most competitive market areas in the country, one that had previously been dominated by agents with over 10 years' experience.

In The HyperLocal, HyperFast Real Estate Agent, Dan tells how he used the Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning (STP) framework to identify potential markets and choose which ones to go after and how to add massive value to the consumers in that market. This book will teach you how to use the STP framework to enter new markets or increase market share in your existing markets by adding more value to your potential clients and communicating your value proposition to the market. Whether you are a new agent getting started or a veteran agent looking for more growth, this book will show you how to do it using examples of how Dan did it in the hypercompetitive Arlington, Virginia (Greater Washington, DC), market.

Practical, Real Examples of Repeatable Success

I've listened to and read a number of real estate related books while beginning my career, and this is by far the most helpful. The accounts of the exact actions Daniel Lesniak took to grow a successful business are inspiring, but more importantly they illustrate actual strategies for achieving similar success.
Unlike anything else I've come across -- and very much what I have hoped for.
The narration is excellent, too.

Great book

One of the best real estate books I've ever read. And that's not saying it lightly because I've read over a dozen. The narrator reread a lot of areas over again, as if he forgot where he was when taking a break. No big deal. Other than that. Can't rave about the book enough.

One of the Best Real Estate Books Out There

I have listened to and read countless real estate books for agents and this one tops the charts. The author uses stories from his amazing first year in the business to teach strategies and ways of thinking that will help you no matter what stage of your real estate career you are in or what type of market you are in.

Packed with tons of tips that I am excited to start implementing into my business. Do not miss out on this book!

SO VERY helpful!

Other than The Distinctly Canadian voice that kept distracting me, this book was AWESOME. It really lets you into the mind of a "dealmaker". It's a "how to" book about Real Estate! It's not the same old "call Expireds and FSBOs and here's my scripts. He tells how he WENT AND GOT BUSINESS. How he leveraged a buyer into finding sellers. How he helped Sellers and by saving them time and aggravation made them fans who sent referrals! How even after his buyer agreed on negotiated price, he got sellers agent to come down More and create a raving fan by going back to buyer and telling them "I negotiated another $5000 off on your behalf!". How by knowing what Sellers want he got his lower offer accepted. I could go on and on. VERY good read. I'm going to read it again just so I "get" more. It's THAT good.

Great Book for Realtors in Any Market

I have been a Realtor in a small market for over 15 years and have never learned as much from a real estate boom as I did by listening to this one. The author uses a compelling storytelling style to teach some very unique principles and strategies. The way he thinks about how to create winning situations for his buyers and sellers is truly one of a kind. I have already began implementing lessons I learned and have already seen results.

If you are a real estate agent or thinking about becoming one get this book now!

1st book a new agent should read

The title of my post says it all. This is a really great book for new agents. KW agents are often interested to read MREA right away, and while that isn’t a bad idea for modeling your business Lesnik’s book is full of examples and ideas that can be applied immediately for results. I am an student of my business and have applied Lesnik’s examples to achieve real life results resulting in success that is reflective in my commission statements. Make this your first read before or when entering the fun and rewarding world of residential real estate.

Very helpful

This competes for first place in the real estate books that I’ve read so far! Especially helpful for new agents starting out. I’ve been looking for a book to tell me what to do and how to start my business and this book was a great help. I liked how the author went through specific experiences he had and how he dealt with them.
