Basketball, Karaoke, Radio, and Napoleon Hill

This book is more about Shelley than real estate. This is more about virtue signalling than real estate. This is more about new age philosophy than real estate. Shelley styles herself as a modern-age Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore Show). She won a singing contest. She volunteered at a food kitchen -- those grueling three hours. She was an accomplished student athlete. She was the youngest radio something or another. She eats granola. She renovates houses. She willed herself to overcome orthopedic difficulties. She builds houses. She even went to cooking school in Tuscany.

She even styles losing out on Rookie of the Year as an achievement.

Shelley's preternatural self-confidence appears pathological.

The best advice she gives is to be on time.

All this being said, if you enjoy inspirational speeches and personal testimonials without any real substance, then you'll probably enjoy this book. The book reader was excellent.

I would have preferred some practical advice.

Basically a steal off of Ninja Installations

Do yourself a favor and buy the book by Larry Kendall instead. This is basically just a viewpoint of someone that went through Ninja and communicates the same exact thing. Always better to go to the actual source though.

A good read for new agents

Great book that helps new agents set up realistic expectations for their first year; it included tips for success while promoting a dream big mentality. The author did a great job of noting worries new agents may have and common rookie mistakes. The book was witty and informative.

Great audio book

This is a perfect back to basics book for anyone with a passion for real estate or just starting a business. It’s well written (love the narration) and highly entertaining! It was perfect to listen to on my long road trip. Her story gives me motivation to be the best I can be and I can see this book being beneficial for new and seasoned agents alike. Thanks! I will definitely recommend 365 to my friends and colleagues!

4/5

The book does help give an insight about what to expect from real estate and how to manage but I think there is too much personal stories that aren't really relevant and it made it really hard to finish the book.

honest, no-nonsense advice

I was hooked the moment this book started. I've been a real estate agent for 10 years but listening to this book brought my first year back to life. The author learned more in her first year than many agents do during their entire career. Love that she showed her failures and the lessons she learned from them. Mindset, systems and a support network are the greatest assets in real estate.

Not as Much Practical Advice as I Would Like

I’m glad I’m not married to Shelley, but her dramatic way does make for a good story. Unlike so many other real estate books, this book starts off at the very beginning. It starts at day 1. That was nice, but it still doesn’t get very specific on how to get leads. Like many other books, this one says, “focus on lead generation,” but it doesn’t spell out how to lead generate. The title leads me to believe this book would be full of practical information for your first year in the business. And while there is some practical info, it is largely anecdotal stories that are meant to teach lessons and motivate. These stories sell books, but I wanted some more “meat and potatoes,” if you will.
