Writing with clear, persuasive language, he explains why conventional treatments that rely on insulin or other blood-glucose-lowering drugs can actually exacerbate the problem, leading to significant weight gain and even heart disease.

The benefits of restrictive diets like paleo and keto have been touted for more than a decade, but as renowned gastroenterologist Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, or "Dr. B", illuminates in this groundbreaking audiobook, the explosion of studies on the microbiome makes it abundantly clear that elimination diets are in fact hazardous to our health. What studies clearly now show - and what Dr. B preaches with his patients - is that gut health is the key to boosting our metabolism, balancing our hormones, and taming the inflammation that causes a host of diseases.

Publisher's summary
The author of the bestselling Plant Paradox series takes a fresh look at one of the top health issues plaguing Americans—fatigue—and offers a revolutionary plan for boosting energy and revitalizing mental and physical stamina.
In his bestselling books, The Plant Paradox and The Longevity Paradox, Dr. Steven R. Gundry offered game-changing perspectives on our wellbeing. In The Energy Paradox, Dr. Gundry expands upon his previous discussions of gut, microbiome, and mitochondrial health, linking immune malfunction to the mental and physical symptoms of fatigue—including exhaustion, brain fog, depression, anxiety, and low metabolism.
As Dr. Gundry explains, feeling tired, moody, and zapped of energy is not normal, no matter your workload or age. Fatigue is an SOS flare from the body, one that is intended to alert us that something is wrong. In his clinical work, Dr. Gundry has found that his patients who complain of feeling sick and tired all the time almost always have something in common: the inflammation markers of a leaky gut.
In The Energy Paradox, Dr. Gundry will offer listeners the information and tools necessary to quiet the autoimmune battle raging within—a battle that depletes precious energy reserves, leaving you drained and prone to mood disorders and weight gain. With new guidelines on how to increase mitochondrial energy production and nourish the microbiome, 30 new Plant Paradox-approved recipes, and lists of energy-boosting foods to consume and energy-depleting foods to avoid, The Energy Paradox will help listeners take back their lives, giving them the energy they need to feel, look, and be their best.

The key to weight loss isn't calories. It isn't fat. It isn't protein. It isn't even carbs. You can count them, cut them, and swap them all you want, but you won't lose weight if you're eating foods that your body can't tolerate. And the most common diet foods - like egg whites, wheat bread, and fat-free yogurt - are some of the worst offenders. These "healthy" foods are actually making you fat! In this book, celebrity nutritionist and fitness expert J. J. Virgin pinpoints the 10 foods that sabotage weight loss. Just by eliminating these 10 diet saboteurs, listeners will see incredible results.

Whether you’re engaged in a casual conversation or a high-stakes negotiation, it’s critical to understand the subtext of a situation. But with so much interaction happening on screens—via email, texts, or video chat—we are losing the ability to interpret expressions and cues. Excellent book!
This book has such great and useful information. Dr. Gundry presents it in a way that is very understandable for a non medical person. The fact that he is 73 years old and is as sharp and active as he is, tells me he knows something about health. I would, and have recommended this book to others.

This was solid book with some great information, requires paying attention to get the most out of it as it gets technical and sometime overly deep into the medical system of the gut. Good book, good info, glad I bought it.

This book changed my life
By following the advice in this book I was able to heal my leaky gut and stop taking prescription acid reducers and IBS medication. And I regained the energy levels I had before I started taking AFIB medication. Thank you, Dr Gundry.

Very good dietary information
There is so much information to learn it can be overwhelming. You need to listen to it more than once. I started supplementing my micro biome while listening and adding prebiotics and probiotics to my diet that I was changing. I feel better, less joint pains in knees and hips and I know I’m losing weight. It’s challenging to start, but I’m keeping it up.

Highly recommended
The second day into this book, I was feeling terrible. I even checked how much personal time I had at work to possibly go home. Then this book made it all make sense! It was my dinner! Game changer!

Another awesome book with alot of useful info
I much prefer the author to read thier own book so thank you Dr. Gundry for this, another great addition to the series. With or with out reading the previous booka this stands on its own as a very useful and easy to understand guidance to being a more resilient human being.
