Critic reviews

"Throughout, the authors include real-life stories, and the list of additional resources and references add value to this work, which nicely supplements Cheryl A. Roberts's recent Coping with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder." ( Library Journal)

I wish someone would recommended me this book.

If you are going thru a situation dealing with a Love one with PTSD this is the right book to start understanding the situation you are in. The book is simple for a non healthcare professionals and at the same time with enough article citations for healthcare personnel that want to expand their knowledge.

I wish therapists would recommend this type of book to patients or caregivers and make the recovery process easier and faster for both sides. I wish that would have been my case when I had to deal with my love one diagnosed with PTSD. I went thru so much frustration before start looking for the reason of her behavior. After reading the book I felt I was equipped with the tools to assist her in the recovery process. I am disappointed her therapist never suggested to her or me.

Great book and very practical.

A very well written, laid out book. Excellent!

I always thought PTSD was a war stigma. Boy, were my eyes opened after reading this book. I have a loved one who suffers from PTSD. I now understand better how to care and help. This book is so well laid out and thought through. It is an excellent read and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a family member struggling with PTSD.

Good info!

Great book, I leaned quite a bit. I do wish they would have used "they/their" instead of switching between he/her every other sentence. Got a little dizzying.

I Wish I’d Read It Sooner

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves someone with PTSD. It was validating, informative, and helpful. I’ve gained a better understanding of the conditions, what to expect, and what I can do to help my partner. Applying the things I have learned have helped strengthen our relationship, and help me feel less lost and unsure. The authors really break down PTSD, what it can look like, and what can be done to help your loved one. I only wish I had read it sooner.

A Bit Toi Long

The book seems to be more of a reference book. I'm sure it could be helpful to some people, but it wasn't what I thought it would be.
