Calming

Great little helper here. I’ve been going through a tough time with my panic disorder and this work helped me understand a lot of my disorder and how to chill a little and reframe my thoughts. For us panic sufferers, every little bit helps so much.

Very Helpful for Panic Attack Sufferers

If you have Panic Attacks, listen to this book with a notebook close at hand. I’m so grateful that I found it. I have struggled for years with Panic Attacks and Anxiety off and on. I’ve read numerous books, taken Xanax, but wanted to actually be rid of them. This book explains what is happening to your body (which reduced my fears) and had so many gems along the way. I listened to it over 4 days and have had significant improvement in my thinking already. The narrator has a soothing voice as well.

Very logical, rare approach

This book is very good with having you think logically and not depend on "distractions" to help you cope, like mediation, or music, or any type of avoidance. It makes much more sense and helps your mind to understand what is happening and stopping it, rather than trying to cover it up and wait for the next panic. I've listened to it multiple times every time I'm having panic or anxiety and it calms me down every time and I'm learning to overcome this disability. I refuse to live like this forever. There is a way to escape it. This book is the best I've heard in knowing there's a way out. Not just coping mechanisms. I highly recommend anyone with anxiety it panic attacks to listen to this book.

A short and intense book encouraging an introspection.

Although this is not a long read, it did present some topics that I can and will use. In the past few years I have faced a lot of changes and with those changes I have noticed my self-confidence has taken a hit.

I’d recommend taking the time to write out some of the lists the author provides as examples because there are definable some behaviors I didn’t realize were types of avoidance due to anxiety.

A fresh start in life

I dont usually write reviews but i feel compelled to this time, simply because i feel this book has given me a new start in life. Anyone who experience panic attacks and / or anxiety is fully aware of the detrimental effect they can on your life. Listening to this book, following the easy steps has helped me to completely get rid of my panic attacks and drastically reduce my anxiety. I am not saying it will all work for you, i can only give you my own personal experience. I just liked that everything was framed slightly different from other things i have read / heard in the past. It made it so much easier to understand and so much more effective.

Connects With You Accurately

Harrogate really speaks to you in this guided and highly visual book. There were a few times where I definitely felt like I was at a private session and simply felt comfortable. This was the first book I got after experiencing the unpleasant symptoms of panic and anxiety and I am very glad I got it. It was my gateway into many more books and fully immersing myself into understanding what it is I am experiencing and how to overcome it. I especially like some of the visual imagery she uses like "swaying like the bottom of the ocean" and others. Definitely a self-esteem booster and a way of just making you feel safer and reassure you that you are ok. Take notes as there is a lot of useful information that you will want to come back to. =)

A realistic and genuinely helpful book

I found this genuinely useful but also realistic. Panic attacks and the related anxiety that can accompany them are pretty horrible, as you probably know if you are reading this...do something about it. This book has genuinely helped me a lot which is a huge relief.

Nice ideas on how to rationalise your fears

The book covers the causes and effects of anxiety, how it arises and how it's reflected in human body. It's pretty basic but contains a few ideas on how to deal with panic attacks and how to overcome them.

Panic attacks GONE.

Panic attacks GONE. Can I say more than this? Not had a single (proper) panic attack or "anxiety day" in the past few weeks. I put 90% of this down to what I learnt in this book.

Panic no more.

Any additional comments?

My panic attacks and general anxiety have greatly reduced (and in some situations disappeared completely) since going through this book twice. However, dont expect to listen tor a book once and suddenly be magically cured. U have to work too, u have stuff to do and try out but thankfully i found the steps easy to follow and not too demanding. FANTASTIC book.
