It is written in the words of a woman who came from Lebanon to Canada at the age of 16 and experienced what it was like to have fate push her to a place where she didn't belong. It is written in the voice of every person who has felt unheard, mistreated, misjudged, or unseen.

Story
Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent more than three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust.

Publisher's summary
Najwa Zebian, EdD, has been grappling with the concept of letting go for years, both in her own journey and in her interactions with community members, students, and friends. More and more, Najwa has observed that while our problems are personal, the themes surrounding them are universal. She concluded that letting go is a topic that deserves specific attention and consideration.
Wanting a tool that is practical for as many people as possible, Najwa used her considerable platform to solicit questions from longtime followers. After reviewing the hundreds of submissions, five categories emerged as areas that are challenging and frustrating for many in their journey to grow and become better people: Infidelity, Toxic Relationships, Injustices, External Perceptions, and Internal Perception.
Conversations on Letting Go is an original audio experience that guides listeners through authentically letting go and the path to forgiveness, with a combination of prescriptive advice and practical tools. These conversations go into the root of the pain, not just what it looks like on the surface.
Each of the five themes are introduced by a selection of follower-submitted questions which Najwa then breaks down and addresses in some of her most intimate and personal work to date. The advice and teachings will be followed by theme-specific Reflections, Guided Exercises, and Affirmations that listeners can return to as their journey to healing continues.

Success is not born out of skill, school, where we’re from, who we know, or what we scored on the SAT. None of us were born ready. None of us started life knowing how to fly a plane or launch a company or knit a sweater for our dog. But we are born with something more important than skills. We’re born with optimism—the initial seed for success. Optimism fuels the belief that you can be the one to create the good the world needs. But you’ve got to hone it. And practice it. And determine to live from it.

One of the very best scientific predictors for how any child turns out - in terms of happiness, academic success, leadership skills, and meaningful relationships - is whether at least one adult in their life has consistently shown up for them. In an age of scheduling demands and digital distractions, showing up for your child might sound like a tall order. But as best-selling authors Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson reassuringly explain, it doesn’t take a lot of time, energy, or money. Instead, showing up means offering a quality of presence.

In this revolutionary audiobook, Dr. Lisa Mosconi, director of the Women's Brain Initiative at Weill Cornell Medical College, provides women with the first plan to address the unique risks of the female brain. Until now, medical research has focused on "bikini medicine", assuming that women are essentially men with breasts and tubes. Yet women are far more likely than men to suffer from anxiety, depression, migraines, brain injuries, and strokes. They are also twice as likely to end their lives suffering from Alzheimer's disease, even when their longer lifespans are taken into account.

We live in the age of speed. We strain to be more efficient, to cram more into each minute, each hour, each day. Since the Industrial Revolution shifted the world into high gear, the cult of speed has pushed us to a breaking point. Consider these facts: Americans on average spend 72 minutes of every day behind the wheel of a car, a typical business executive now loses 68 hours a year to being put on hold, and American adults currently devote on average a mere half hour per week to making love.

Best way to end 2023
I enjoyed the author's voice and how calm the story was told. I felt held, a feeling I was lookin for for a while now. it's the best way to end my journey od 6 years, best way to end 2023 and let go of things I was holding on for so long that didn't deserve my time nor my suffering. best way to start 2024.

The Right Book At The Right Time
I’ve just finished listening through for the first time and will be diving right back in for a second listen. Najwa has a way of putting things into perspective that resonates with me. I hope she can do the same for you.

Excellent
Gives answers to a lot of issues that we experience in our daily lives! Excellent food for the soul and helps us verbalize our feelings in a manner that we couldn’t have done before. Najwa is an excellent writer and narrator of this book!

Excellent Soul Food
This material is healing to my soul. I listened the first time but it is worthy of a second listening for digesting and note taking.

Feeling validated and seen, will listen again and again.
This has been so helpful in my healing and moving forward because in acknowledging and validating the injustice of our pain, it reminds us of our worthiness for something more beautiful.
