Such a great book

Great balance between biblical text, connectivity in storytelling and helpful tools for each chapter . Very well written .

A book that needed to be written ❤️

I am so grateful for the wisdom and truth that Lysa TerKeurst had the courage to share with us through this book. It’s clear that she has a heart for loving people and honoring God in how she does that. The way she starts with the truth of scripture and gives examples of how that can be lived out, has been so helpful to me. Learning what it looks like to love people and honor God when mistreatment, manipulation or abuse is a factor is a true need right now. The tender way this fragile topic was handled shows how much she cares about this message being helpful and not harmful.

The scripture references are so helpful that I’m going to buy the book so I can have the portion at the end of each chapter, where key points are highlighted, scripture is listed and questions to reflect on are written out. I definitely don’t regret listening to the audiobook though. I love that Lysa is the one reading it. Her care for the reader, and for this message, really comes through. I appreciate her vulnerability and honesty so that we can see how God can take such pain and bring beauty out of it. Bitterness would be the only option without Him.

Phenomenal book!

There is so much I can say about this amazing book 1st of all, as I share this, I have tears coming out. It’s refreshing to finally read a true, authentic Christian, and loving approach to a very difficult part of our lives. So many of us, struggle with these things, and as Christians we often get burdened by benevolence. Thank you so much for pouring out your heart with scripture and resources to help those of us who are recovering, starting the recovering process and healing from these types of wounds. It’s a process that I think could happen for a lifetime. However, doing it with the Lord on our side is the only way to go. Thank you again!

A must read for ALL in a relationship or not!!!

As a man I found this book to be EXTREMELY enlightening. I feel that it would benefit men actually more than women in that it would enable us to gain insight into many important thought processes of women that can be very impactful in our relationships with our significant others. Lysa does a WONDERFUL job explaining the concepts spoken of throughout, and ties them together biblically with scripture. The chapter recaps and words from her therapist Jim bring it all home for a life changing read that will help to renew and reshape one's thinking and actions to pave the way for a better approach to life with all of our various relationships.

Interesting, practical, helpful!

Lysa’s own story as well as journey to wholeness through Jesus’ unconditional love is an inspiration. Scripture supports healthy boundaries and she explains why. Many Christians endorse being “a doormat for Jesus,”which is far from the truth. This book was super helpful to me even after reading other author’s books on the same subject. I’ve been sharing this title with my friends, it’s that good!

Such a valuable tool

Even on the other side of a very dysfunctional relationship, I still find myself revisiting destructive emotions and patterns. This book was a reminder that life is messy and hurtful and it takes work to overcome the hurt, grace to forgive and strength to endure. Thank you Lysa.
