How to be a Jack of All Trades Marketer

What did you like best about Duct Tape Marketing (Revised and Updated)? What did you like least?

Can a marketing book with advice for small business be too comprehensive? As an owner of a digital marketing firm that serves small business, I've seen too many businesses armed with "just enough information" feel confident enough to participate in marketing areas they should avoid altogether, or find help executing. Google Adwords is a great example. How does a fool make a small fortune using Google Adwords? Start with a large fortune. While I was impressed with the completeness of Jantsch research, many of the marketing areas he made sound simple, simply aren't simple. The businesses that I see succeeding today aren't those who know a little bit about a lot of marketing techniques, or those who use "tactical trial and error" as their strategy. Success belongs to businesses who know where customers come from, and structure marketing around that insight. I give this three stars for being comprehensive and well-organized. To get my 5 stars, I'd want better insights and more focus on strategy. That's what small businesses require today, not a little knowledge about everything.

Do not waste your money like me

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who has never owned a business for themselves, and / or someone who has no marketing experience.

Has Duct Tape Marketing (Revised and Updated) turned you off from other books in this genre?

Im seeking great information, and deep insights, this book had neither. I will likely stay away from marketing help books.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He needs to take narration lessons, and the staff who directed him needs to have their pay cut by 1/2.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Duct Tape Marketing (Revised and Updated)?

The who thing is not worth the paper / time. The author is our for only one thing, getting paid.

Any additional comments?

Gilden media, and you, (which I both like) need to show much better discretion on what to accept. Sorry people, this one you really shot yourself in the foot.

Simply a complete marketing book

One of the best marketing books I have read (listened). As a commercial real estate agent and business broker I would not hesitate in recommending this book to anyone of my (business owner) clients.
If you are starting or looking to improving your business sales with only one book you cant go too wrong with this one.

One of the worst marketing books ever

I'm not exaggerating or being funny this is literally one of the worst marketing books I have ever read in my life. this book might be useful if we were in the year 1995 but today's day and age it's useless information. almost an entire chapter dedicated to how to use an RSS feed and also how you should have a website. gee thanks. can I have my $20 back please?

Just a Fantastic Book for our "New Age"

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to any Small business wanting to learn how to leverage the World of internet marketing to level the playing field for themselves against the BIG retail giants.

What did you like best about this story?

Its breadth of content.

What does John Jantsch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Listening is always a more powerful "Learning" experience , your memory claiming of the information is so much more definite and the audio process allows you to replay instantly what you need to clarify what you heard when reading creates the process of "Lazy Learning" were you tend to not reread a section that you should have because our minds are "Conditioned" to just keep reading rather then review.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No
