Great business advice

What made the experience of listening to Traction the most enjoyable?

I listened to this while the startup I was working for was going through some hard times. The more I listened to it, the more I realized we were on the wrong path. When attorneys spoke to employees about their ideas on how to fix the company, I felt like I was prepared to make a good case for some change.

What did you like best about this story?

I got what I wanted out of this book and don't feel a need to read more - however if I find myself working for another startup company, it might be time to read it again.

Which character – as performed by Kevin Pierce – was your favorite?

Lots of examples and anecdotes. Without it, this would have been a very boring book, but the plentiful real-life examples made it easy to listen to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It makes a good point that company mantras might feel cheesy, but they are needed. If you're going through a list of ideals you want your employees to follow, you will soon realize what you want in a person that you hire - and you will realize the employees you have that don't follow your standards.

I'm a believer

A little skeptical at first but the more I read and listened the more convinced I became. I am now a student of Traction and will continue to learn and grow!

I am very impressed with this systematic plan to organize and run a business. The EOS system really helped me organize all the details!

Solid, straight-forward business advice for SMBs

Pretty standard advice about having accountability, setting smart goals and cascading them from a few big ones per quarter down to departments and individuals. Track leading indicators in a regular format, raise issues and solve them.

Target audience is small businesses like construction, real estate, and services, but the general advice applies anywhere.

Concepts are explained in a clear manner, simply enough for a anyone to understand without any prior business experience or education. There are supporting materials like lists and templates.

I just wished I read this years ago.. I look forward to implementing the program.

Great book

Really good info, tools and walks you through to get organized talks about structure and culture, vision etc. would recommend to anyone starting a business or that has been in business but has no organizational structure

Outstanding book. Could have skipped reading 30 books and my MBA classes had I just read this.

This book plain and simple delivers! Great read if you are tryinf to build a business or are stagnant in your business.

will want it in print

I feel this book will be better in printed form given the number of lists and frameworks. I need to see it on a page to absorb. that said, it is great content that I plan to use

Got my business in shape

When I started the book I was at 43 on the organizational check up, after reading and implementing I’m at a 60! I’m looking forward to growing through the EOS process!
