The missing piece for my weight loss success

I've read a lot of weight loss and health book and follow many doctors. There was always something missing keeping me from reaching my goals. It felt like a huge struggle and I kept losing and gaining the same 8 kg. I couldn't breakthrough to my goal weight. This book gave me the tools to overcome my pig. The concepts are simple but brilliant. I also joined Glenn's online intensive program and I love it. It's making a huge difference in my life. I'm glad I found this book and highly recommend it.

A telemarketer's dream

The premise is very simplistic but has merit. Lots and lots and lots of repetition. The most annoying thing is the self-marketing throughout the entire book. I just hate spending money on an audiobook that dedicates most of the book trying to sell you more stuff.

Excellent. Really helped me.

Like so many others, I have struggles with my weight for years. Tried a number of commercial weight loss programs and 12-step programs. I’ve read many books and listened to a lot of psychological audio books. They all seemed to help a little. I could never really stay consistent. I am a persistent person so this was aggravating for me. When I read Never Binge Again, it clicked and everything came together and made sense. The method and the state of mind he explains made it easier to stay on a healthy food plan.
I see a lot of negative reviews on here. I guess they haven’t been where I have and experienced that years of frustratingly unable to stick to a healthy life style.
I am free from the pig!!

Ground breaking!

Dr Livingston has developed a great way to sort out cravings and urges to overeat. He presents it in a clear and concise manner - no nonsense. Give it a chance If you’re serious about making a change.

Unique and personal experience by the author

I am a retired registered nurse and I think this has amazing into the struggles overeaters have and if the suggested principles are applied properly would be a far heather diet that one currently has. This book is written by someone who applied the principles he used in his own life. It’s a very unique concept but it is amazing!!! If other methods have failed, I think you owe it to yourself to see if this would work for you!!

Hard to get past the cringey "pig noises"

I had to stop listening to this because I couldnt stand to hear the author make that squeaky "yipee!" narration whenever he was describing his inner pig. I get it, its funny like one time but after a while it gets insufferable and distracting.
The book lacked thorough scientific evidence to why we as humans binge on food, most info was based on subjective claims.
I'll be on the lookout for another book with useful tips.

This works. Stop being fooled and DO IT.

I have never been able to stop bingeing after years of self-research, and using all modern therapeutic methods out there that I could find.

Those who have reviewed negatively about this book, in my opinion, must not have hit rock bottom yet, and thus are not willing to at least try. "The narration is weird! It's over-simplistic, waste of money!" You are missing the point.

Dr. Livingston's method is a straight-forward trick of the mind. Essentially, what you are doing is separating your identity from the "Lizard Brain", the medulla oblongata, the part of your neuro-network that sabotages you into overeating.

Once you understand the science, and the power of imagination, and use both those tools to your advantage, you will be unstoppable. Even the most severe cases like me can do it!

Often times, therapeutic methods can overcomplicate and keep you stuck. Even the author agrees, and he is a Clinical Psychologist.

HIDDEN BONUS- I have applied this same method towards other ways I sabotage myself in my daily life (not exercising, losing motivation at work, giving up on my goals, etc), and it also works.

I promote this book to a listening ear every time I get the chance. I don't get paid for it. I am on my work break writing this review. It has made such an impact on me that I can't help but proclaim it. I am finally free from the inner bingeing demonic-possession that was my life. My bingeing was so bad, it injured not only me, but affected everyone I cared about. If you have it bad, you'll understand the possession analogy.

By the way, there is a whole chapter explaining how outright rejection of even trying could be a clever, subconscious attempt from your inner saboteur to keep you stuck. Yep. Like some of these reviewers.

So I'll reiterate- if you won't give this method a chance, you're not miserable enough yet. If you really want a way out, this is it. JUST DO IT.

Great advice if you’re willing to put your Pig in its place.

If you’re willing to put a stop to bad habits and take accountability for your eating habits, this is the book for you. It’s super simple, yet deeply profound.

Coming from someone who can EAT..this book saves

To put this in perspective, I am someone who could down 2 boxes of girl scout thin mints along with an entire medium dominos pizza. I have been eating this way since the teen years, and I cringe looking back at all of the garbage I've piled into my body (esp cheap fast food.) The approach used in this book is absolutely fantastic and helped me visualize what is really going on in my head and how to stop a binge in its tracks. Bonus - Glenn (narrator/author) is pretty funny! I love the way he speaks, makes this a lot of fun to listen to. After reading the book, I've been an avid podcast subscriber and steadily losing weight. Get the book, it'll be an eye opener and entertaining as well. Thank you so much, Glenn!!!
