Revealing that AD is not one condition, as it is currently treated, but three, The End of Alzheimer's outlines 36 metabolic factors (micronutrients, hormone levels, sleep) that can trigger "downsizing" in the brain. The protocol shows us how to rebalance these factors using lifestyle modifications like taking B12, eliminating gluten, or improving oral hygiene.

Every time we think of inflammation, we generally visualize swollen parts of the body such as joints, arthritic limbs, stiff muscles, etc. We have come to associate these with inflammation and something that affects old people. However, inflammation is more than just joint pains, gout, or arthritis. In fact, inflammation can and does affect our entire body regardless of age. Story
Alzheimer’s disease is largely preventable, and often reversible. Those are bold statements, especially from a conventionally-trained neurologist. But Dale Bredesen, MD, seems to be no ordinary neurologist. After more than 30 years of intensive research into the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s (AD), and clinical experience caring for thousands of patients, Bredesen is convinced many of medicine’s central dogmas about dementia are misguided at best, and flat-out wrong at worst.

Great book with so much information!
Been slowly implementing the changes recommended! Great book with so much information that most likely your traditional doctor will most likely not go over with you. I have learned that you must become your own doctor at times and take responsibility for your own health if you want to thrive. People want than just drugs, they want healing. We are aware now that there are many alternatives and thorough studies to help heal any disease, including Alzheimer's. Never believe it can't be cured. This book offers so much hope but especially for those of us who have the genetic lot. We have a shot at surviving and even thriving in our old age but we must begin right now! The book is about long term preparation although it offers a lot of hope for those already diagnosed. We will win! Great listen and share with everyone in your family as this is the most difficult disease of our day! Everyone has someone who is affected: family, friends, co-workers, etc. Knowledge is power!

Highly recommend!
I'm a medical professional and this plan incorporates the most up to date knowledge about treating and preventing dementia. This doctor is no flake. Not a scam to get you to buy "his products" just a great analysis of what can actually help. In my opinion you will need to find a functional medicine doctor to get the most benefit from this info but plenty of pointers here to make a difference. If you have very little knowledge of medicine you may want to buy his shorter book which mainly presents the plans to stop Alzheimer's Disease. This also includes the research he bases the treatment on. Highly recommend!

Awesome treatment!
John Roberts is a researcher into the root causes of Alzheimer’s, who has used this new knowledge to develop a multifaceted approach to treatment. His treatments are a work in progress but are already doing quite well for a disease that most doctors consider hopeless. Yet his method requires a lot of testing to identify which of 36 causes are significant for each individual and to then tailor a program of diet and supplements. Some people have a gene weakness (ApoE), some people have been exposed to toxics like mercury, but most, if they are not too old, only need a better diet and life style.

Wonderful audiobook
My mother just died of Alzheimer's. Not only did the disease make her suffer a long, undignified "life" until her eventual death, but the cost of the nursing care wiped out all my inheritance that my parents had wanted to give me. I am so angry at doctors and the U.S. medical services for keeping this information from us. But now I will tell everyone I can about this book, and hopefully help to save a few lives.

Brilliant and so very exciting that our medical establishments cannot any longer ignore. Alzheimer's disease is very complicated and John Roberts does a great job of providing an overview, explaining and outlining steps one can take to help stack the cards in your favor. While it may not be economically feasible to do all of the tests and take all of the steps he suggests, there is much you can do if you understand the major contributors to developing this disease.

I am so thankful this book was published. My husband has terrific memory loss--also was beginning to withdraw. I bought this book when it became available and it is my go to book. Got most important information
This was not the easiest book to listen in terms of wading through a lot of technical information. But I didn't have to listen all the technical information in order to get the most important information - what is Alzheimers, what are the various forms of the disease, what doesn't work, and what does work. But I wanted to know all the details and all the "why's" so I did slog through the technical stuff. The most important thing this book does is give hope. I listen this because my sister was diagnosed with Alzheimers and thankfully she's got a great doctor who put her on the protocol (or what John Roberts calls ReCODE) and told her and the family to listen this book. It's early in her treatment but we're seeing improvements already. The information in this book will most likely save her life

Very effective treatment
This book presents clear and compelling evidence on a new and effective treatment to stop and reverse the cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Unfortunately, this new approach will be perceived as “alternative” and will be met with a lot of skepticism. For that reason, it will take a long time to be accepted by the medical community in general. Although I consider myself a skeptic by nature, reading this book left me convinced on the veracity of it’s claims. I feel lucky to be able to understand this and be able to act in order to prevent this harrowing disease.

Grateful for this
Truly a game changer, especially when it's a matter of life and brain death! Thanks to this book, I am getting my father in touch with a center who practices this protocol! Feeling nothing but grateful for this chance to help my dad.

Story
In this paradigm shifting book, Dale Bredesen, MD, offers real hope to anyone looking to prevent and even reverse Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline.

Story
The story of Dr. Mary T. Newport's discovery and use of medium-chain fatty acids, which act like alternative fuel in the Alzheimer's brain, to aid her beloved husband, Steve, created such a stir when the first edition was published in 2011 that a second edition was needed to reflect the most recent developments. Dr. Newport brings the story of Steve's progress up to date and details the most recent research on a variety of topics, including possible causes of Alzheimer's and how infection, inflammation, and genetic makeup may affect an individual's response to fatty acid therapy.
