Sleep Better: Buy it now!
This book covers a lot of ground - the science of sleep, the stages of sleep, the benefits and burdens - what happens when you sleep too much or not enough. It also talks about what can affect sleep hygiene, such as medical conditions like ADHD (which I have), Alzheimer's, MS and epilepsy.
I have a sleep disorder myself on top of my adult ADHD, and I have had two sleep studies done without success. I found this book was full of helpful tips; I know some of them work (I do sleep better when my room is clean, for example, and after drinking herbal tea). Worthwhile for those who are trying to learn how to get a better night's sleep. Right now, even when I do sleep, I don't usually feel rested. It's an ongoing problem from childhood, and I've just sort of learned to live with it. Now, I look forward to trying out the suggestions in this book.

This is the best sleep aid I've discovered! this book pretty much covers all aspects of the sleep issue.
- I appreciated the pre-bed countdown of when to stop doing things, from the obvious caffeine to the less obvious items.
- The description of what happens when you sleep was thorough and very helpful.
- The list of foods that promote good sleep, as well as the ones that interfere with sleeping, was eye-opening. I knew about the tryptophan in turkey, but beyond that, I was clueless.
- The description of sleep disorders (and the wide array of possible treatments) helps me understand what some of my friends are living with.
- .I have never before encountered instructions for how to get BACK to sleep after you wake up in the middle of the night! These were practical, and I actually had opportunity to implement a few of the suggestions a few nights ago; they helped!
Listening to this book won't put you to sleep but it will help your sleep life.

It's actually pretty surprising how important it is to sleep well. When you don't, it can affect everything from your emotions to your physical health. And if you do manage to get some sleep, you wake up feeling like you never did. There are a lot of things that can affect your sleep patterns, from physical pain to emotional and mental pain. Stress is a big killer of sleep. This book is great for people who need help falling asleep and staying asleep, giving their body the time it needs to rest.

Would you listen to Sleep: Discover How to Fall Asleep Easier, Get a Better Night's Rest & Wake Up Feeling Energized again? Why?
Yes, I will listen to "Sleep:Discover How to Fall Asleep Easier, Get a Better Night's Rest & Wake Up Feeling Energized," again. There are many parts of the audio book that really pertain to me. I have to take medication in order to fall asleep because I have been through so much. Listening to the Audio Book gave me many different ideas on how I can fall asleep with out the use of medications that I can be addictive.
What did you like best about this story?
Learning about REM Sleep. "During deep sleep, your brain is storing long term memories. If you don't get enough sleep, you will find it hard to to remember certain events." How can you remember anything, if your sleep is constantly disturbed?
What does Joshua Mackey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Joshua Mackey does a great performance as usual. His reading of Ace's books always make you want you smile, and I am always left fulfilled. I think he really loves his job!
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
Something that I will remember from "Sleep Discover How to Fall Asleep," is about the "increased risk of anxiety and depression," and that's from lack of sleep. I truly believe in this statement.
Any additional comments?
Talking about weight gain? I tend to stay up too late, and I will head to the kitchen. I will fall asleep on a full stomach, which is bad because all the food just sits there, and without exercise it will turn to fat.

Really like Audilble book. Falling asleep is a snap while listening to a book on sleep
I've been struggling to get enough sleep for the last week and unfortunately the issue isn't the sleep itself but a health issue that I can't talk to the doctor about for another month (due to them being booked up until July). Still, I want to try something to at least help cope a little bit in the meantime, and that's why I decided to give this book a listen.
The author seems like a bit of an expert in sleep, talking about everything that has to do with how it works when we go to sleep and such, but also offering great ideas to try to help us sleep, and there are many. For instance, drinking herbal tea at bedtime, eating certain foods, reducing pain (okay, that one's rather obvious)...those are just a few of the many things he suggests trying, which is better than other people I have spoken, too, who mostly simply just say "Have you tried taking a sleeping pill?" No, because the one time I tried, I woke up all groggy and it didn't even make me that sleepy in the first place. No more! I want to find all-natural, non-medication ways to get to sleep and this book is great for that.
Who couldn't use some extra sleep? I have been feeling like I'm dragging lately at work but I refuse to take sleep medication! This audio book gives you tips how to easily and naturally relax your brain and body to help you get more sleep. I am now getting to sleep faster and feeling more rested when I get up. Sweet dreams thanks to this book!!!
Would you listen to Sleep: Discover How to Fall Asleep Easier, Get a Better Night's Rest & Wake Up Feeling Energized again? Why?
Yes I would listen to it any other day. This is because I have learned the best strategies to improve the quality of my sleep. From the time I read this book,I have had the best sleep. Thank you so much Ace.
What did you like best about this story?
My best part was learning on the benefits of having adequate sleep. Example of this benefits include mental well being, reduction of pain, clear thinking, reduced injury risk and my favorite was knowing that after having adequate sleep,I can increase time to discuss issues with my partner[this one has really being a big problem for me]. Now I have my sleep issues sorted!!
Have you listened to any of Joshua Mackey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes I have. As usual,Joshua has delivered Ace's ideas in a fluent, clear and precise manner.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes because Joshua has fluently explained every idea that Ace had. I now have a solution for my sleeping problem. It was awesome listening to it in one sitting and learning so much from the book.
Any additional comments?
I would recommend this book to anyone with sleep issues and anyone who wants to have great sleep as it will give you the best remedies. After practicing some tips,am experiencing the best sleep at night example turning off electronics like TV,phones and computers that can leave me stimulated, this way I prepare myself for a good night sleep. Once again,Kudos Ace!!
Would you consider the audio edition of Sleep: Discover How to Fall Asleep Easier, Get a Better Night's Rest & Wake Up Feeling Energized to be better than the print version?
I would consider them equal. I like listening to books while I drive and this is why I chose the audio edition. I also have the print edition and feel that both are valid and easy. Sometimes when something is read to you, you retain a little more. Both editions are great and useful.
What other book might you compare Sleep: Discover How to Fall Asleep Easier, Get a Better Night's Rest & Wake Up Feeling Energized to and why?
I would compare it to Ace McCloud's other book called Energy. There is some information on sleep in that book, but it takes having energy given to you by proper sleep a little further by also considering foods, exercise and other things that give you energy.
Which scene was your favorite?
There were no scenes as this is a non fiction book, but I particularly liked the part about foods that might keep you awake and foods that help you sleep. It brought about an "awakening" in my mind when I looked at what I'm not supposed to consume before bed.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The whole book moved me because I do have problems with sleep. It gave me valid things I can do to be able to get to sleep and stay that way. I can do this without medication, which is very good.
Any additional comments?
The book gives you natural sleep remedies and they sometimes work much better than the chemical medicines prescribed by doctors. It also gives you exercises and relaxation techniques that can work with many people. It has all around good information that helped me.
Sleep is something we all need, if not to achieve peak performance but to at least basically function. However, this book is perfect for anyone who is suffering insomnia or anyone who works a job with rotating shifts, as I do. Your sleep schedule tends to get messed up. Don't jump to over the counter meds to cure your sleep problems, this book contains all natural and safer ways to improve your sleep cycle!
I really enjoyed listening to this guide. Although I would consider some of the information as common sense there was also a whole lot more that I had no idea could affect your sleep or how lack of sleep can affect you. For example, it is obvious that a lack of sleep is going to have a negative impact on you, but I had no idea it could affect your weight.
My sleep patterns have been very erratic lately due to a busy life but after listening to this guide I definitely feel more motivated to put the advice in to action and improve the quality of my sleep.
Definitely worth listening to if you value your sleep and more importantly your body.

I was searching for some sleep tips for my partner who struggles with chronic tiredness and I ran into McCloud’s sleep guide. That is what I call a complete compendium of knowledge. Very well written, approachable and informative.
It got me surprised how simple solutions can help improve your quality of life just by improving the quality of sleep. Amazing, how many elements of our everyday life, such as food, drinks, stress level…affect our resting. I surely did not know there are foods which can promote sleep! Like cherries or bananas.
McCloud’s sleep book is an easy to listen, interesting guide. Every chapter brings some advices simple and obvious, however life-changing solutions for improving your sleep pattern. Author points out some eyes opening connection between sleep and every day mental and physical activities.
For me it has been a personal problem, as since a long time I have been struggling with clear thinking. Didn’t realise that all I need is some good regular sleep to maximise my creativity and rejuvenate my mind. It turned out that the difficulty in remembering things is due to the sleeping habits. From now on McCloud’s book will justify my afternoon naps!
I would recommend “Sleep” guide to all those busy, hardworking, stressed or health-oriented readers, looking for answers on how and why to get a good efficient sleep, given that the time is limited.

Sleep is essentially a compilation of scores of excellent hints and tips to guide you towards establishing a healthy sleep pattern. This involves paying attention not only to the time you spend asleep, but also to the rhythm and habits of your waking day. It covers everything from how to establish a morning routine that will allow you to awaken energised and bouncing towards the new day, to the details of your evening habits and how these can affect your ability both to fall asleep and to stay asleep. The narrative discusses the stages of sleep and how these can be disrupted, leading to a lower quality of rest. It then progresses through creating a sleep friendly environment, things that affect comfort, behaviours that make sleep difficult and those that have a sleep inducing effect. Really interesting to me was the list of foods that can actually help you to fall asleep - though not eaten in excess as a full stomach can hinder restful sleep!
Interesting and helpful.

I prefer relaxation and positive visualisations to help me relax and sleep. I can't imagine that there is anyone out there who hasn't heard all this before.

This book is my saviour! I have been struggling from insomnia recently and I have been dying to get proper sleep. On random nights, I am lucky to get a good 6 hours of sleep. A week ago, I have decided that I really have to look for some kind of solution online because as everyone knows, sleep is very important. So I found this book and mind you, I do not regret buying it!
This book just explains everything starting from why some people (including me) struggle sleeping at night, what hinders you from getting a good night’s sleep, its importance, down to giving you tips on how to improve and change your sleeping pattern.
This book has so much to offer! If you are someone who’s struggling from sleeping disorder or insomnia like me, I recommend this book to you! It is worth every penny!
What made the experience of listening to Sleep: Discover How to Fall Asleep Easier, Get a Better Night's Rest & Wake Up Feeling Energized the most enjoyable?
