Having kids, I don't have a good night's sleep, mostly I slept only a few hours during the night. I know this is not good for me in the long run. But I don't like to take pills over the counter. A poor night of sleep sets us up for a poor day to follow. This guide provides multiple reasons why people struggle to sleep and gives many solutions to help solve the things stopping you sleep in the first place. This guide is very simple to follow, and is explained well. It is good to see that the author gives solutions to problems instead of handing out symptoms as this will be a long-term fix for people who struggle with insomnia. This is a wonderful listen, an informative and most complete guide to overcome insomnia - something I have struggled with for the most part of my life. I am a calm person but my mind is overactive at night, often during the early morning hours. This book shed some light on how to move past this and provided invaluable advice and handy tips to implement changes and get back to a restful sleep.

This book is full of all sorts of science and facts that help me understand what may be causing my insomnia. The first chapter really reviews the various sleep cycles, the importance of sleep and learning between sleep quantity and sleep quality. I know for myself, I can sleep for 10hrs and feel like I just went to sleep. I have always struggled with sleeping soundly and getting restful sleep. I have useful tools that I can now use to track why I sleep the way I do, that is, if I sleep. The chapter I have already started to put in to effect is regarding the foods I eat before bed. I tend to eat food that causes acid reflux that causes disruption in my sleep. I also drink caffeine throughout the day even as I go to bed. I have already started switching over to water as well changing how late I am eating and the types of foods I eat before bed. I think with the various tools the author provides, I will be able to make some healthy sleep habits and increase my quality of sleep;.
