Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Dr. Daniel Amen equips you with powerful weapons to battle the inner dragons that are breathing fire on your brain, driving unhealthy behaviors, and robbing you of joy and contentment.

Your brain is always listening and responding to these hidden influences and unless you recognize and deal with them, they can steal your happiness, spoil your relationships, and sabotage your health. This book will teach you to tame the:

  1. Dragons from the Past that ignite your most painful emotions;
  2. Negative Thought Dragons that attack you, fueling anxiety and depression;
  3. They and Them Dragons, people in your life whose own dragons do battle with yours;
  4. Bad Habit Dragons that increase the chances you'll be overweight, overwhelmed, and an underachiever;
  5. Addicted Dragons that make you lose control of your health, wealth, and relationships;
  6. Scheming Dragons, advertisers and social media sites that steal your attention.

In Your Brain Is Always Listening, Dr. Daniel Amen shows you how to recognize harmful dragons and gives you the weapons to vanquish them. With these practical tools, you can stop feeling sad, mad, nervous, or out of control and start being happier, calmer, and more in control of your own destiny.

BORING and USELESS!!!

So much hype about this book. All it was, was a redundant and very unhelpful account of the authors liberal political affiliation with the Corona virus pandemic mixed in with some Miley Cirus and Justin Bieber name dropped (I.e. these are my high profile clients). Truly boring with little to no helpful takeaways. Waste of time.

A must read and act on it immediately book

Super book. Loaded with life changing solutions. The book deals with your brain and body and how to keep them in sync. I ask everyone to at least give it a try. Audible will give you back your credit, but your pills will not give you back what it took from you.

Very Childish

Considering how much scientific research this author claims to have done studying the brain there isn't much sciene at all. It's very fantasy based basic level intro to therapy. Explaining your emotions as "dragons" even trying to say what kind of movies you're particular dragon will be drawn too.

Great book & easy listen! Very informative!

One of the most informative books I’ve ever read on mental health. Having ADHD & dad with Dementia, I found information that helped us both. It explained a lot, plus gave me direction as to what could help! Would HIGHLY recommend book!

Dr. Amen is one of the best on the brain n helping us get unstuck from our past dragons n personal events. Our minds/ thoughts can either help us or hurt us.
Giving them to God is one way n the Best way. Blessings Dr. Amen.

Informative but somewhat judge mental at times

I disliked the narrator. His voice was too forceful and robotic. It made it hard to listen at times as well as Dr. Amen’s preponderance of self aggrandizement in my opinion.

Nothing new here

I respect what Dr. Amen has done and continues to do, but this seems like a regurgitation of other ‘do-this-not-that” advice blogs. Like “crying is normal” and “don’t care what others think” or “stop letting social media images dictate how you feel about yourself.” Duh. I just couldn’t find anything née in this.

The Audible feature is not working.

I cannot listen to the book. The Audible feature is not working. When I click play, it did not work. All of my other Audible books work just fine.
