    "REALLY WORTH READING!!!"
    Any additional comments?

Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result. Over and over I tried ignoring my anxiety and yelling at myself, but things weren't changing. Reading this book was something new for me and was well worth it. I was really surprised at how many times the book mentioned very specific thought patterns that were the exact same as my own. I think the book is written well and organized well and I feel like I have tools now to better recognize my anxiety and overcome it. This book is exactly what I needed.

    Any additional comments?

So far, so good. 1 week since i have had this book and i am seeing a marked improvement in my shyness and anxiety issues in social situations. Last night i even managed to go to a birthday party in a bar, where i had to arrive alone and great everyone and then make small chat all night to people i did and did not know. This may seem simple to a lot of people, but until last week this was very very tough for me.
I am hoping the advice I have got so far will last!

    Any additional comments?

As my review title says, I really feel this book has given me some sort of fresh start at life. The shyness and social anxiety that has held me back for so long…well it is not totally gone but it is definitely a lot less than it was.

It was nice to finally find a book that was easy to follow.

Recommended if you have issues with shyness or social anxiety. Listen with an open mind. It certainly helped me.

"Proven and easy solutions towards social anxiety"
What was one of the most memorable moments of Social Anxiety?

The case studies make this audible to be very real and believable. A listener may opt for suggestion to a solution that at one time helped a victim rather than just generic suggestions.

What did you learn from Social Anxiety that you would use in your daily life?

I received awesome advice from a profession who made me realize the causes and consequences of my anxiety. Through the audible I got my way out.

    Any additional comments?

Unlike many other books, the Social Anxiety audible provides a clear way towards the liberation from social anxiety. Many people panic and sweat. Their thoughts start racing with an increased heart rate. This leads to mind being blank and they become speechless. Many issues surrounding this problem have been highlighted and their possible mitigation have been explained.

    "Social Anxiety.....a destructive fear"

Tell me something…..can you honestly say you know someone who has NEVER experienced social anxiety? Interesting question, because social anxiety exists on a spectrum which is something many of us just don’t consciously acknowledge or recognize. There are degrees of anxiety, and how it manifests (where on the spectrum), is based on how much fear you feel in a social situation.

Something else many of us don’t realize is that any interaction with another human being is a social interaction, and what makes the author’s work shine is that she carries the notion of fear, anxiety and other insecurities in a social interaction into areas that might surprise you, like a conversation with your boss or even interactions on social media. That’s right, social interactions aren’t always face-to-face!

The beauty of this audio book is that the author uncovers behaviors and thought processes we all experience, but for some reason we feel we are the only ones uncomfortable in these situations! But she points out that 40 million Americans suffer from social anxiety. We’ve all been there and done that and many of us have withdrawn from many types of social situations we used to suffer through. It’s easy now that we can live vicariously through the computer. So don’t believe for a minute those social media presences that make someone else’s life seem so perfect. It’s not!

And that’s the power in this book. The author is highly qualified to share information on this subject and she helps the listener understand anxiety itself and how it is precipitated, how it relates to social situations and how it manifests as fears. Through case studies and exercises and by giving you the questions you need to ask yourself, the author helps you take the bull by the horns and conquer the fears that generate social anxiety before they destroy other areas of your life.

This audio book is easy to listen to since the moderator has a comforting voice and regulates it well.

    Highly recommended!

    "Your New Best Friend"
Would you listen to Social Anxiety again? Why?

Absolutely! This book was a huge help for me, and I know many friends who would also benefit from what Dr. Alison shares. I want to know this book inside out so I too can offer the help that is sorely needed, and guide others through the same process of self-knowledge and acceptance.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Social Anxiety?

I loved how from the very start Dr. Alison refers to social anxiety as an actual health issue that takes medical care to overcome. She's the first person to call out the 'it's only in your head' saying as false and extremely harmful to someone who is dealing with this illness. To hear that acknowledged out loud was very refreshing.

What does Rebekah Amber Clark bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice is soothing, and that's very important with such a topic. To listen to her is calming, and one eventually feels at ease, as if talking to a friend. Generating that sort of comfort is crucial for someone to start working on their healing.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    "Pain is no more"

    Any additional comments?

I hope this book finds all the people it needs to help. I will surely put it out there, recommend it online and to my friends. It has the potential to save someone's life and that must not be underestimated.

I was not entirely sure what to expect from this book, but i have to say i got so much more from it than i expected.

I liked that it was not all medical, I did not feel like I needed to be doctor to understand it!

Its an ongoing journey and it will take time but I am see massive improvements already.

Good narrator, easy to listen to, engaging without being annoying.

    "Phenomenal Book"
What did you like best about this story?

Jennifer has done an excellent job in explaining what social anxiety is and how it can affect us, depending on certain situations. Living in fear can cripple even the strongest of people. If an event calls for you to be confident or ‘flexible’ in a sense, then you are going to want to be at your best. In seconds, social anxiety and all of the negativity that comes with it can undo the hard work and effort you’ve put forth.

I love how Jennifer talks about a number of scenarios. We often think about social anxiety in a specific context, but really, it intersects with many things. Vacations, speeches, meetings, shopping in public, athletic events – there’s a situation that can fit anyone’s lifestyle. By looking at the big picture (and particular scenarios) Jennifer is able to help guide the listener through a very logical and sound approach at comprehending social anxiety and surpassing it altogether.

    Any additional comments?

Social Media is very prevalent in our society. I think that managing the use of social media, as mentioned in the book, is the best method. Social media is obviously not going away, however, we CAN control how we use it. Checking our phones when in a crowded area because we feel nervous, missing events, avoiding people in certain places. These things can be triggered by social anxiety and social media. Despite that, there IS a way to beat the anxiety. Jennifer’s methods are extremely useful.

I really enjoyed the practical solutions as well as the case studies. Overcoming social anxiety is something that everyone needs to work on, whether they like to admit it or not. This book helps.

I would %100 recommend this to anyone who is looking to seek improvement and better themselves!

    "A Complete Life Changer"
What made the experience of listening to Social Anxiety the most enjoyable?

Listening to this book honestly changed the way I think about social anxiety completely. It covers all the bases - everything from protecting yourself online to coping with and preventing panic attacks - but there's something about it that's just different from other audio books on this subject. The tone of the book is comforting and conversational. You really feel like the writer is on your side, propelling you forward. Rarely have I experienced anything like that with another author.

What did you like best about this story?

This book really offers a fresh and current take on social anxiety. It's really engaging and insightful. Unlike other books of its kind which can be boring and repetitive, this book offers new approaches and a better understanding of social anxiety.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Absolutely. I'm not the type of person that's crippled with social anxiety. I can go out with my friends and pretend I'm okay most of the time. But I've always felt apprehensive about socialising and I've had more than a few panic attacks in my life. One thing that really stood out for me (and did make me tear up) were the case studies. In this book, there are accounts of other people who have struggled with, and overcome, their social anxiety. I found them all very moving and motivating.

    Any additional comments?

If you have social anxiety to any degree, I really think this book will be a great help. It's a masterpiece in this field and I honestly think it will be the best book of its kind for years to come. Highly recommend!

Feels like (after many years) i am having a breakthrough with dealing with my social anxiety and also with my shyness. So many books read like medical journals or worse they are endless lists of exercises and tests - this book was different. It got to the point quickly and allowed me to implement the tips and to, day by day, breakthrough the cycle of social anxiety.

This book was recommended to me and now I am passing on that favour. Personally it really does feel like a major breakthrough for me.
