Great content, uneven narration.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to anyone who suffers with anxiety.

What other book might you compare How to Control Your Anxiety Before It Controls You to and why?

Anxiety Free by Robert Leahy (which I also recommend)

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration was uneven. The sound levels changed as well as the quality. It was distracting.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, but given it is relatively short, one could listen to it all in one sitting. But, the book is meaty enough that you may want to re-listen to it again in the future to truly grasp the content.

Not be anxious about anxiety. It's being human.

I'll listen to it again to see what I didn't like. Material is easy to apply to present thinking, feeling and behavior.

Very clear and engineered approach.

I made this book my daily guide, every time I start feeling anxiety I remember lines from that book and act according to the steps described in the book, and amazingly, REBT is working!
As a computer engineer I have scientific approach to things, I fit best to this excellent book logic. It's simple, witty and has no loose ends. Everything is streched out and good explained. There is touch on every subject, even sex and anger. Although, I think, anger management subject should have been developed some more. But anyway, if you're an engineer have a scientific approach, you suffer from frequent anxiety, panic attacks and it's physical consequences, this book is for you!

Helpful to Hear in Addition to Reading

My therapist requested that I read this book to help me gain the skills to fight my debilitating anxiety and panic. I found it particularly helpful to listen to the audiobook because I was able to take in the information more objectively than "hearing" my own voice while reading. I was able to specifically identify reasons why my anxiety is keeping me from action, the underlying thoughts, and exercises to step out of my anxiety bit by bit. I will both listen to this audiobook and read the book again to help the information further sink in.

Rational and coherent

I really liked the logical flow of the book. The book appeals to rational side of the mind. When you complete the book you will have a coherent strategy to deal with anxiety. But it is not a feel good book. I recommend this to anyone who is serious about overcoming anxiety.
