Publisher's summary

Two broken people in a city fueled by sin.

Maddie isn’t looking to be saved. She knows the only person you can count on is yourself. Her moral compass might not point true north these days - but at least she’s still standing.

The military taught Tyler about loyalty. Being there for your brothers is the only thing that matters - but when it mattered most, he wasn’t.

She’s got a ticket straight to hell. He’s already been there and back.

She needs to win. He just needs to stop fighting.

Some sins scar your soul so deeply, you'll never be the same.

But this devil in disguise might just be the angel he needs to forgive himself.

What an amazing story. I can't wait for the next book. This was such an amazing rollercoaster. The kind where you don't want to get off the ride when it stop. You want to stay in your seat and go again. Absolute perfection.

OMG - LOOOOVED!!!!!

Can’t tell ya how much I love JA Huss; always know when a book is released and she is the author that it’s gonna be complex, deep, and HOT....an extremely talented author!! And now, OMG, I think I am in love with Johnathan McClain (aka Tad Branson). His delivery of narration IS PERFECTION. Seriously, he is by far the best male narrator I have ever heard, (and I’ve heard many as I’m addicted to audible books.) He totally brings the main male character, Tyler, come alive...like you truly KNOW him,...or WANT to know him. TRUE PERFECTION. Also, another wonderful performance by Ava Erickson; probably my favorite female narrator. Her voice is sweet, innocent, and is exactly what I would imagine or want the main female character to be. Spot on! PLEASE keep the collaboration and stories coming J & L!!!! Your work together is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! Cannot wait to read the next book in this series....off to download it now. :)

Mental Rambling

Tyler and Scarlette/Maddie......I LOVED Tyler's "mental rambling". He is sad, damaged, sarcastic and very humorous. Maddie is also damaged but she is snarky and cynical. Not as likable......but I don't dislike her, just didn't connect with her.

It didn't take long for me to get into the characters and the story. The writing is great and of course, there is a cliffhanger but I don't mind since almost all of the books in this series is already out. I am so hooked.

Oh and let's the forget the male narrator, Tad Branson/Johnathan McClain, he gave Tyler LIFE!!! He is f*cking awesome. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Internal Combat within the Characters! Love it!

The way the characters fight with good and bad, light and dark....
Letting us hear and feel their internal fight...raw and half crazed-i love being in Tyler's head.

Liked alot

Liked the narration, the story way good but somewhat predictable. The male characters use the word "bro" way too much. The erotic parts-good, the characters-good. I liked enough that I will be moving on to the next book in the series when it's available.

A story about forgiving yourself and healing

I listened to all books so this for the entire Original Sin series.

I absolutely loved Tyler! Because of who he is, his tragic past doesn’t make him a dark broody Batman character. No he lives a melancholic self-destructive purgatory and uses humor to deflect trauma, something pretty realistic.

Everyone in this story is damaged and when bad situations come their way, they handle it with even more bad decisions. It’s so easy to see ourselves in these characters and relate to their pain and revelations.

Maddie and Tyler are so painfully human. Especially Maddie. She’s no Mary Sue. She pisses people off; she’s jaded; she fails...a lot. She wants to succeed but doesn’t know in what so she’s equally stuck like Tyler. When Tyler and Maddie finally meet, it’s starts a catalyst of self reflection. The two reflect each other’s missing piece. Then they learn to grow from it.

Not to mention the interviews at the end provide even more insight into the story.

Win With Me

This collaboration between the two authors is amazing. The characters are awesome. Tyler with his inner monologue is awesome...I can hardly wait to begin second book. Tax Branson/Jonathan McClain is awesome...

Tragic and compelling, I couldn't put it down

This book was so enthralling, I listened to the entire thing in a single day. I simply couldn't stop. These characters are so shattered that each chapter will break your heart while offering the smallest glimmers of hope that they may somehow be able to put each other back together. The blend of desperation, heart break, psychosis, passion, and yes even a dark and twisted kind of love all come together to create a world that pulls you in and lets you know that while it may not always be happy, there is an ever after.

Note, this is book 1 of 4 and ends on a cliff hanger.

Slow Start

Very complex characters to understand but the last few chapters give more insight to why they are tortured and maybe how they can be the salve to each other's brokenness.
