Not what I thought it was

Very dark, definitely bi, fear-and-loathing style trips, and foursomes. But overall I enjoyed it after I got through the initial shock of it all.

Dark, steamy, interesting and mysterious

I had no idea the context of this book when I started but it had great reviews. Wow, super interesting story. Not your usual romance storyline but I loved it! The narrators are fantastic (Troy Duran could read my taxes and still make it sexy). Worth the credit!

Difficult story to get through but worth it!

The world in which this takes place is unforgiving and ruthless. The characters are just as evil as the ones in mafia stories or paranormal enemies books. The big difference is the sensitive nature of the human trafficking/sex trafficking. It is uncomfortable but it’s supposed to be. It’s revolting and sadistic but it’s supposed to be. The author pulls you in with the grit and determination of Anya and the brutal nature of Cort. There is genius in the weaving of this tale because underneath it all the abused are the strongest of them all not despite their abuse but because of it. I particularly liked that, instead of a front row seat to the abuse, we are exposed to it as fuzzy dreams which distances us from the horrors while giving us what we need to understand how the character was shaped by it. And we get them in bite sized chunks that are easier to digest. It was well written. I applaud J A Huss for her strength to tackle a sensitive subject and being able to highlight the beauty in the darkness.

A story with a plot!

Really enjoyed this book. Although the scenario is gruesome, the author is attempting to show us that evil exists and through the surprise plot, a way of ending it. The male narrator was perfect for the story. Their was some steamy scenes but, unlike the previous story I listened to, it wasn’t constantly sexual. There WAS a plot.

Can I say HOLY SHIT!!!! This book is soooo good. Yes, it's dark, twisted, and crazy. BUT great writing and narrating is freaking amazing! If you're into this kind of stuff this story is for you. You think you know what's going to happen but you don't. Damn Lessa Jay Lamb I see you 👀 and you amd Troy Duran did the damn thing.
