Publisher's summary

Sharee Samuels was 17 and 256 pounds when she hit her rock bottom. But with incredible determination and an unflaggingly positive attitude, she went on to lose more than 100 pounds over the course of five years. When she began documenting her journey on Tumblr, she never expected to become such a powerful voice for health, fitness, and self-love. But her blog, called Funeral for My Fat, soon morphed into an inspirational guide for hundreds of thousands of individuals looking for support and advice on their own fitness journeys.

Here Sharee tells her story. Integral to her success has been her burgeoning passion for teaching group fitness classes, including Zumba, as well as her commitment to eating vegan. However, she firmly believes that it is important for everyone to follow their own path and find what works for them, while treating themselves and their bodies with care and respect.

If you have a journey ahead of you, Sharee has a story worth hearing.

Almost There...

I actually started reading this book and about half way through decided to try Audible to listen on my daily walks, so I continued on this platform. I loved how the story started out - it was focused on Sharee's journey and how she got to where she was and everything she went through. From chapters 6 and on, however, strayed from her story and got a little repetitive. The last half of the book was more "tips & tricks" for weight loss rather than about Sharee's story, which might be very helpful for people starting their own journey but it wasn't new information for me. I also had a hard time listening to the narrator's voice (sorry Melissa!). I just didn't enjoy how she read certain phrases, etc. Didn't seem natural to me. Overall, still a pretty inspirational story.

Life Changer

I love her positivity, it what is getting me through on starting my own weight loss journey. I definitely encourage anyone who has had an issue with food or their weight- to read/listen to this book. I was sad to hear it end but I will be listening to it again when the going gets rough... I know it's the perfect antidote to getting back on track.

The story, I'm not sure but the narratio is TRAGIC

I'm super disappointed I even wasted a free credit listening to this audiobook.
I got 53 seconds in and stopped listening because of the robotic, choppy, emotionless narration. So I guess this will be something I read on my own time.

Narrator sounds like Siri....just terrible

I couldn’t get past the Narrators monotone computerized sounding voice. Not only was this book written like a high school essay, the combination of the writing with the “performance” made it sound like it was being read out loud in a classroom.
