A long lived classic in the making, worth listening over and over

I discovered this book on a trial of Otto Radio (like Netflix for audiobooks). I discontinued my Otto because most of their selection is terrible. Finding this one made it worth it. As a plus, it’s read by the author herself - which always sounds better and more natural. She’s great at helping you visualize different people talking, different bullet points, and organizing what’s on the page verbally.

I’m happy to own this one permanently. I’ve already listened to it three times. I still have a lot more to get out of it. I’m about to start working through the worksheets and journaling she recommends as part of sorting out why losing weight - and keeping it off - is so difficult for each unique person. I’m looking forward to the journey.

This is not a book to teach you how many calories you need to eat, or macro nutrients. There are plenty of great choices. They go hand in hand with this title.

There is definitely at least something in this book that will be a light bulb moment (but probably quite a few of them, each chapter was completely eye opening to me.)

Get it and add it to your regular motivation routine - it’s advice is the equivalent of going to a camp for a week and spending thousands of dollars.

The only weight loss book you'll ever need

This is a great audible purchase or use of a credit. I started it over as soon as it ended because I enjoyed it and wanted to reinforce what I had just heard. It brings together all the things you've learned in your pursuit of being healthy and gives you practical skills and ideas about how to enforce them in everyday life. I also enjoy Eliza's voice. It is calming and reassuring while still evoking confidence and competence. Get this one and become a long time weight manager.

Helpful, but...

Very well written and very helpful had I read it first, but I didn't. I've read dr. Amen's "Change your brain change your life", which has a bit more science and that works for me better.
Very nice book, though, thank you:)

She calls it "healthy obsession" but let's call it what it really is... Orthorexia.
And seriously, dump salt on your piece of cake to prevent yourself from taking another bite?

Exactly what I needed

You know how everyone is always like “It’s not a diet it’s a lifestyle” as they’re eating cheese on top of cheese sprinkled in bacon, and are patting themselves on the back for cutting carbs. This book is actually a lifestyle. She takes you through the phycological reasons we overeat, emotional eat, and have intense cravings. She gives you real tools to work through our food issues. She explains why some people have to watch every single thing that goes into their mouth while others don’t have the same “resistant biology” she gives you worksheets with ways to challenge your own thinking. Best “diet” book I’ve ever read.

Great book to really motivate you! Eliza brings up pieces to weight loss in a different way then just dieting and exercise! I really enjoyed this book!
