Publisher's summary

There are a lot of misconceptions and misinformation about A.D.H.D. in women due to decades of failing to recognize A.D.H.D. in girls.

Being diagnosed later in life, most women have become accustomed to blaming themselves and have developed many negative coping habits.

Do you experience a never-ending cycle of forgetfulness, unfinished work, impulsivity, poor self-esteem, and often anxiety or depression?Women tend to interiorize A.D.H.D.-induced shortcomings as character failures. This attitude affects one's self-esteem and feeds a sense of shame.

What you are experiencing is not a character flaw but has a neurological explanation.

Women with A.D.H.D. have a Neurodivergent brain. You can't change that, but you can change the angle and the filter you use to consider and experience your life to thrive.

Discover how to take advantage of the tremendous potential A.D.H.D. has gifted you and how to overcome the obstacles A.D.H.D. presents you.

Too often, we focus exclusively on our shortcomings and don't see the great qualities and strengths that A.D.H.D. has gifted us.

This audiobook, The Hidden Flower, offers powerful guidance and strategies to help you feel more confident, accept yourself, embrace neurodiversity and achieve more of your goals by tapping into the power of your executive functioning skills.

You'll finally comprehend why you think, feel, and behave the way you do.

Strategies and organizational support should make your daily life more straightforward and less chaotic. Still, they are not meant to transform you into someone other than yourself.

The Hidden Flower audiobook will enable you to learn the skills you need to attain your aspirations.

Ordinary is what defines normal; you are not ordinary.

You are significantly more talented.

You are extraordinary!

New visions of an old theme

What I hear are positive visions of a syndrome that many define as a "lack "or a "Defect to be repaired "The authors have changed my point of view regarding0 ADHD after a long time (20+ years). I finally understand my issues and where they come from, the whys, and the solutions. I have had a very troubled love life, had I had this knowledge a long time ago, I would have behaved very differently, avoiding so much trouble and suffering. I also bought the paperback version because I want to take so many notes in the various chapters. Good job, congratulations.

For my husband

I gave this audiobook to my husband as a gift because I am sure he will finally be able to understand me. My anxiety, my negativity, and my low self-esteem are all revealed in the book, but mainly, what to do and not to do to improve. It is also beneficial if you are near a partner or family member with the syndrome. Yesterday my husband told me that he had never known that women had these influences. He had always associated ADHD with Hyperactive boys, and I am not, at least outwardly. At least now we can discuss, and now he is very interested in my "quirks." The chapter on relationships and the one on sexuality are a bomb!!! Must read.

A must for women

This is the book that changes the life of a woman with ADHD who is used to being told she is weird. Yes, I am weird; I am not ordinary. I am extra extraordinary! I learned this and so much more from this audiobook and finally understand what happened to me and why. I have no words. Thank you.

Thank you on behalf of women with ADHD.

This audiobook vindicates in part the mistakes made by various therapists toward women with ADHD. It finally acknowledges the injustices suffered by us women all these years because of a male-only ( child) based view that has led to so many misdiagnoses and so much ( unnecessary) suffering. Ignorance has caused more damage than syndrome. This book restores your self-confidence and the knowledge that ADHD brings so many gifts/benefits to those who know how to use them ee know them. After so many years of feeling it was a mental problem with no way out, we finally see the positives and a better future. I thank the authors for raising my self-esteem and making me discover and understand the great strength I possess. A life-changing book, priceless!

My autobiography?

Right from the start, I felt the empathy of the writers. The fact that the author Ross-Child also has ADHD gives much-added value. I found myself in all the chapters and am learning a lot by applying the strategies in the book. A big problem I do have is a need for more motivation to complete what I started. I get bored quickly, so I often change interests; this attitude is addressed and explained in the book, and it was enlightening for me. I am applying the advice, and slowly, I am beginning to have a positive change, I have understood the mechanisms that lead me to this mindset, and now I have the means to deal with them. Very interesting, and the narration is enjoyable.

As a therapist, I recommend it to all women.

The book touches on little-discussed points regarding the influence of ADHD on women. Today women are subjected to much more stimulation and expectations from partners, family, friends, and society. This book discusses all these situations in detail. The proposed solutions and strategies are workable, and I have already experimented with some of the strategies with my patients with very positive feedback. I think the chapter on ADHD and sexuality is fantastic and deserves a separate book. Excellent work done by someone who has great experience and can be heard.

A late revelation

I am 59 years old and was diagnosed with ADHD 12 years ago. I have read/listened to several books on the subject, but most of them, besides being boring, proposed only a solution to medicines like Ritalin or Adderal. Unfortunately, because of my former therapist, I started treatments with these medications. A disaster! I was worse than ever. Fortunately, I decided to stop against the therapist's advice. This book proposes another perspective. I only regret not having listened earlier because it would have prevented me from unnecessary suffering. This new view gives me courage, confidence, and knowledge that is helping me greatly—a heartfelt thanks to the writers.

Three fantastic hours

The audio is about three hours and twenty minutes long, and it was an amazing time for me. Hearing about ADHD with so much positivity is changing my life. I had to listen again to several passages several times, and I will do it again because they are essential for my change. From a " disabled" to an “ overachiever" is what I realized using the qualities of ADHD illustrated by the writers. Great book, recommended.

So many things in one book!

Each chapter is utterly inherent to my life to what I’m living every day. It is not a book it is like listening to a friend who knows you very well and also understands all your nuances. I often have to stop to listen and meditate on what I just heard. There are nuances that I had never considered but are very important to allow me to live well with joy and confidence. My disorder, both structural and mental, is also treated very well and the strategies to improve are actionable and practical. Simple concepts but very focused, full of strategy, and tips from great experience. The recitation is like the book, without excesses but very deep and always interesting.
