Publisher's summary

Is a distracted and scattered mind preventing you from securing the life you deeply desire?

You’re not alone. For many women just like you, the biggest obstacle on their path to self-actualization is their own mind. ADHD isn’t just for young boys anymore.

Women from age 24 to 36 are now the fastest-growing population diagnosed and treated for ADHD today. While women are four times less likely to get diagnosed than men, research has shown that ADHD causes a greater toll on women due to societal pressure and internalizing their struggles.

Maybe you always knew your brain worked differently. It’s possible that thoughts seem to enter your mind, shuffle, and move on at incredible speed. Maybe you’ve always found yourself interested in many things, unable to focus and build upon one.

You’re probably incredibly creative but find it difficult to distill that focus into consistent effort.

In the illuminating guide, Women with ADHD, you’ll learn about:

  • Signs and symptoms of ADHD that may have gone unnoticed.
  • The role of executive function in the hyperactive mind.
  • ADHD’s effect on social dysfunction and anxiety.
  • Step-by-step methods to declutter your life by defining your target areas.
  • Isolation and friendships for those with ADHD.
  • Improving relationships and choosing romantic partners that complement your mind.
  • Career paths vs. “pay the bills” jobs and the advantages of both.
  • Becoming intelligent with your spending habits.
  • And much more!

If you are a woman with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, you’ve learned that the way you think and act might not be what society would label as “correct”. In this breakthrough guide, you’ll be enlightened to the truth that is: There is no such thing as correct!

Although ADHD can present difficulties that others may have the privilege of avoiding, you can learn to work with–and love–the way your mind works.

Must Read if You Suspect ADHD

I was diagnosed with ADHD, as an adult, nearly 10 years ago. I had no idea that the way my mind worked and how I processed things wasn’t “typical.” The ability to now recognize this and look for tools to harness the power of ADHD vs fall victim to the differences has become a lifelong exercise! This book is an excellent introduction to ADHD and provides processes to implement in your life, home and routine that will generate immediate results. I wish I had read this book 30 years ago. If you have ADHD, suspect you may have it or have a loved one who has it give this a read. The authors do an excellent job of describing the types of ADHD, potentially unrecognized symptoms and best of all tools to improve your daily life.

I don't know what drew me to this book, but it is a game changer. The information provided explanations for some of my major life events and how I respond to people on a day to day basis. This definitely helps me cope more and I will be seeking treatment.

Informitive and great for background noise

After listening to women with ADHD I learned many things I didn't know. For instance I never knew that ADHD can vary whether your male or female, and females are the least diagnosed gender for ADHD. I also learned a few tricks to help my wife better manage her ADHD without the use of medication. Over an amazing book to listen and I would totally recommend to anyone whether they be male or female. The narrators voice is very calming and soothing

Great book

Women With ADHD is very informative novel by Sara Davis and Linda Hill. This was the first time I had ever listened to an audio book. I loved it. Before listening to this I didn't know anything about ADHD. No one I know has ADHD. So it was interesting to hear. It is full of so much information about ADHD like symptoms, myths, definition, and more. I really liked the quotes at the start of each chapter.

So helpful!

I was just diagnosed with ADHD at 39 and this explains so much for me. I’m very thankful to have a book that helps me understand that it’s not just that I’m lazy or can’t get my ish together, but that my brain just works differently. I even gave a copy of this book to my mom to help her understand!

Women and ADHD

It's long been known that women tend to be overlooked for ADHD. This book by Sarah Davis and Linda Hill point out the whys and how that that occurs. That the presentation of ADHD in women is different and that they are more inattentive and internal about their issues. Ultimately it also gives some suggestions as to how to navigate ADHD and to learn from it. Knowing that there are a variety of treatment options is important as well as that you are not alone in these feelings. Overall a good book. Narrator did a decent job with the subject material.
