Twenty percent of all people have an anxious attachment style, which makes it hard for those people to build relationships that feel safe. When you have an insecure attachment style, you may tend to self-sabotage relationships, and you may feel unable to trust your partner’s love.

Story
An affair: It can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity. And yet this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood. Adultery has existed since marriage was invented, and so, too, the prohibition against it - in fact it has a tenacity that marriage can only envy. Iconic couples' therapist and best-selling author of Mating in Captivity Esther Perel returns with a groundbreaking and provocative look at infidelity, arguing for a more nuanced and less judgmental conversation about our transgressions.

The fear of abandonment typically results in a person unintentionally engaging in behaviors that push other people away, thus leading to their worst fear... that of being abandoned. Then being abandoned causes the person to fear abandonment even more in the future. Therein lies the problem of this type of fear being a self-perpetuating downward spiral that can only get worse and worse - unless you decide to do something about it.

Most people don't realize how much unresolved emotional pain they carry around. They don't know why they always feel depressed, anxious, victimized, or disappointed. They wonder why they keep making the same self-sabotaging impulsive decisions. These patterns often stem from their lost inner child, which carries a false narrative that has been on repeat since childhood.

Publisher's summary
If you want to overcome the emotional or physical intimacy issues in your relationship or marriage, then this audiobook is for you!
What happens when someone in a relationship won't allow the other to get too close? Naturally, you can expect major problems to arise from this kind of situation.
It also doesn't help when the person who has fear of intimacy cannot explain to the partner why he or she won't let the other person come any closer. Moreover, people with this disorder may or may not be aware of the fact they are creating barriers in their relationship.
As a result, keeping the relationship in a healthy state is almost impossible. The person being held at a distance may feel confused and left out and will eventually feel dissatisfied with the whole relationship.
Whether you're the one with a fear of intimacy, or whether it's your partner who has the intimacy issues, the good news is there are things that can be done to overcome this relationship-crippling problem. Thanks to more and more scientific research, psychologists are beginning to understand more about the disorder and how people can get beyond the barriers they have placed in their own relationships.
This audiobook will share many useful tips on how you and your partner can deal with the fear of intimacy and thus create a long-lasting and meaningful relationship for many years to come.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

In a rarified world of scientific research, a revolution has been brewing. Its activists are not anarchists, but rather Nobel Laureates in physics and economics and pony-tailed graduates, mathematicians, and computer scientists from all over the world. They have formed an iconoclastic think-tank and their radical idea is to create a new science: complexity. They want to know how a primordial soup of simple molecules managed to turn itself into the first living cell--and what the origin of life some four billion years ago can tell us about the process of technological innovation today.

Story
The history of the tablets translated in the following book is strange and beyond the belief of modern scientists. Their antiquity is stupendous, dating back some 36,000 years. The writer is Thoth, an Atlantean Priest-King, who founded a colony in ancient Egypt after the sinking of the mother country. He was the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, erroneously attributed to Cheops. In it he incorporated his knowledge of the ancient wisdom and also securely secreted records and instruments of ancient Atlantis.

Short. Surface Level Read
Good quick read if you’re just looking to scratch the surface on this topic. Gives a good high level perspective on the fear of intimacy.

Not great
There are some good points made, but honestly the majority of the information laid out can be found with a Google search for "intimacy issues." I also personally found the narrator to be a little unsettling-it was like being read a story about intimacy by my grandfather.... Kinda awkward.
