Every year, the empire administers the rite of passage into adulthood. That rite serves to identify those blessed by Aether to become magi. The new magi are shipped to the academy to learn the arts of magic. The academy is a dangerous place; the tournaments held twice each year can cripple or kill the students, and the clans of the empire will go to great lengths to recruit the students they want. Gregory had one dream: to become a magi like the legends of old. Though he was ridiculed by the residents of the village and his unsupportive father, he never wavered from his dream.

When I first met my ex-succubus, it was on a rainy day. I saw a flash of light in the sky, blinked to get a better look. Bright lights from my side. A horn honking. A woman screaming. Basically, this ex-succubus comes along, ropes me into a whole ordeal that involves fighting off her old team of supervillains or aliens, whatever you want to call them. Just the two of us? BEING BACK TAD BRANSON!!!
I love this series but the change in voice actors really messed with me the entire time. It totally threw everything off! love the story though, PLEASE BRING BACK TAD BRANSON!!

Lots of back story
This book contains a great deal of character back story. It was needed as the series progressed but it did get a little long at times. I do look forward to the next book in the series.

What an ending.
This was a good book. A lot less sex then the previous two which I didn’t really enjoy listening to anyways.
The ending makes me scream hurry up with book 4 and I’m guessing 5.
Very well done. The change in narrator was weird at first but he did a good job. 
If a book 4 comes out I will be getting it.

Highly Recommended
Yes, it has a bit of explicit sex but it also has a good story line - suspenseful and exciting fighting. Good narration. I loved the other two preceding book 1 and 2 and am looking forward to book 4 of the series, if any. Keep them coming.

Good story, not a fan of the narrator
Really wish that the narrators hadn’t been swapped out, some of the voices just didn’t match and a few annoyed so badly that I almost stopped listening

Another awesome entry
it's amazing how many different super heroes and villains are introduced with each book. The author does a great of keeping on your toes in every chapter. The combination of comedy, drama, and sheer action is great. You really start to care about or hate the characters. I can't wait to see what the next book has in store.

great story not great narration
I enjoyed the story a lot, how ever the narration is off compared to the first 2. Leo Barnabas reads like he is forcing the last words of the sentence out with his last breath. his "yelling" is the same for all characters and basically sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger every time. other then that i loved the story and hope for a 4th book .
