Ridiculous

Not even having 5 books makes this worth it. I purchased due to length and reviews but it's horrible. It is disgusting! The author attempts to make Gryff seem good and open minded but literally sees everything as his property. He disrespects his wives, is overbearing, and truly cares only about himself. If he can take his kid Peter to the pool that's all he really cares about. The descriptions of women are atrocious and amateurish. I'm hoping I can return this as I can't continue.

Juvenile with an unlikable MC

wanted to like these books, but the more I read the less I liked the main character. made it to book 3 before giving up. Maybe when I was 16 this story might have appealed to me. Narration was excellent despite the storyline and dialog.

Great voice actors but cringe story

the short sample clip is missleading. Cringe op main character with cringe sex scenes.

To say problematic is an understatement

Full disclosure, I couldn't finish this.
The good: The narration was fine. The first book was goodish.
The bad: So many things.
1. Lots of obvious typos
2. Very stilted dialogue: Everyone speaks very formally, even in the most informal settings.
3. It starts out as a kind of fun town building story, but midway through it hops to empire building, skipping kingdom building altogether, and where I have up it was beginning galactic/universal conquest.
4. As things get bigger they get more boring.
5. The main character is a huge jackhole. At one point he murders one of his own guards (who had never seen him) for not recognizing and instantly respecting him. He straight up rapes a woman, she of course loves being dominated by such a manly man. Threatens to kill one of his kings for doing the job he was hired to do, then deposed him. About the same with one of his wives. And, of course, beats one of his wives for doing something he wanted done, but not respectfully. Can you say 'incel dream come true'? I knew you could. A ' heroic' MC more despicable than Thomas Covenant.
6. Worst of all is the increasingly misogynist tenor of the series. Book 1, not any more than you would expect from most books in the genre. The end of book 2 until I gave up MISOGYNY UNLEASHED!!!

In summation: If you hate women this is the series for you! Tom out

So much good LitRPG!

This is so good, the fact that you get so many books for one credit is amazing and the story itself is just fantastic. this may have been Marcus's first outing as an author but you see the roots for everything we come to love about his writing right here in this series.

I won't finish this.

I love a good deal with fantasy, add in the fact that the book is HUGE? But 7.5 hours in and there is more detail in the administration and lists of what is needed and 2 cringily overly detailed erotica sections than the couple of very small fights there have been.

With the cover I was expecting a bit of a harem thing or too many hot lady descriptions and vague hookups all the time not full blown, too many details sex scenes. This really just wasn't my cup of tea.

Author spends more time on organization that story

Not the worst in the genre but clearly this author loves his minutiae. He spends more time discussing the details of town building than the story. Action scenes tend to be short one sided and examples of how OP the MC is. I couldn’t get more than a few hours in before I gave up. My standards for entertainment are low (mainly use stories to pass the time while on road trips) this one couldn’t meet them.

I love this series!!!

Great story and narration!

Griff gets transported to a new world with magic orcs goblins and war! With the male to female ratio strongly in his favor and a nation desperately in need of a hero he must buckle down and do his duty!

This is a fun high fantasy harem adventure!

Rebecca and Daniel do a fantastic job with the narration and really bring the story to life!

I really enjoyed the series it's one of my favorite within the genre!

The simple fact that you can now get the entire series for single credit is crazy making it one of the best deals on Audible - five audiobooks for one credit!

Really Great !!

I don't often do reviews, however, I feel that this omnibus deserves recognition for being well above average. There are a few editing errors that jumped out at you (only because there were very few) but their rarity makes them easier to overlook . The narrators did a fabulous job of bringing the story to life. The story itself was easy to understand and empathize with, making the author one of the better ones. All in all I definitely recommend this as a really great example of this genre. Kudos to the author and narrators.

70 hours of epic fun!

This is the most bang for your buck in the audible store. Five books for 1 credit coming in at almost 71 hours of entertainment. Each book is phenomenal with excellent world building, action, and hot ladies. I'm sad to see that the series is over, but it finished well. Don't hesitate.

Very Poor

Can’t really express my disappointment in this book, i persevered as long as i could into Book 2 but it just got so boring. No real depth to the story or the characters, no (plausible) reason why the character was where he was in the first place. The only in depth parts of the book the author put effort into was the sex scenes, which were pure porn….. I found myself zoning out of the story and then paying attention again - without missing anything really - a bit like watching a crappy soap on TV where you don’t really need to pay attention. Find it hard to recommend this to anybody really……….

amazing

A good job by Marcus Sloss. A great story with good character development. it did get a bit slow paced in the middle but I enjoyed it. And Daniel and Rebecca are still amazing. i really recommend it.

starts off well, then nose dives.

While this started off as entertaining and a slightly different take on the fantasy world it devolved to a story of a narcissist with a harem who just happens to be the savour of the universe who happens to be the demigod son of the goddess of magic and nigh on invincible.

I will state that there are themes of slavery and serial assault and while the voice actors are very good, it doesn't make up for the story, which seems to have had every fantasy trope thrown at the wall to see what sticks.

So in my considered opinion this is not worth listening to.

This book blows my mind

it's really interesting recreation of a fantasy novel with so many layers and so many thought-provoking ideas. I would highly recommend to anyone who's enjoying some lighthearted fun fantasy. Also yes there are some adults themes in it good taste.

Great Narration.

Brilliant work by the narrators.

The story is progressed at a very fast pace in some places, and the climactic battles are little more than a small paragraph. A few mistakes throughout in regards to numbers getting muddled, names getting muddled and sometimes the accents the narrator uses for a certain character is changed. Can be confusing but the mistakes are few and far between.

Very enjoyable.

There were some incorrect words spoken that were different from what was written in the book, as I was reading along with kindle.
But other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the whole book and audible.

Awesome

I thoroughly love this book. It had a lot of surprises and wasn't what I was suspecting. A bit ribald in places but I found this amusing. I hope there's more from Griff in the future
