Great Story but narrator doesnt fit the characters

The story is good with a lot of potential for a long series. Could go many different directions. There's a variety of characters. Would like to see where the author goes with this one.
However, the choice of narrators was poorly done. Feels like whoever chose the narrator just threw their hands in the air and picked one out of a hat without any consideration of the story and how they would portray the individual characters.
Harem books in particular with a lot of female dialogue should not be narrated by a guy who sounds like he smokes a pack a day. He would be great narrating a western or something similar to that, but NOT a harem book.
He CANNOT do a female voice. To me the MC's voice should be younger sounding more enthusiastic excited for adventure! He's a young professor who loves exploring. The narrator really ruins the book for me personally.
In my opinion these types of books with a lot of female dialogue should either have both a male AND female narrator, or a female narrator that can do a good male voice. The targeted audience for these types of books (males mostly) listen to these books for the story, and ladies. And listening to some old guy narrate what is suppose to be some sexy woman absolutely ruins it.
To the authors or whoever is choosing the narrators for these books. Take a little time and do some research. You will undoubtedly get a better return on your books if you have a decent narrator that CAN narrate the material as it was intended to be interpreted as. I.E. a young woman should sound like a young woman not a 60 year old man.
I would suggest taking a look at some other authors and their review numbers compared to authors that don't have quality narrators.
Like - Eric Vall, Logan Jacobs, Tamryn Tamer, Hondo Jinx, Randi Darren, Daniel Schinhofen, just to name a few of the authors that care about their stories and the end product.
All that being said the story is great. It's an old trope but there is a lot of potential here. Just get a narrator that fits the story. Your customers will thank you!

Discount Gas Station Sushi

The premise interested me but the characters are utter trash and their motivations are so contrived that everyone with a schlong should have a harem or two in that world.

Lame, poorly written, and lacking in any skill.

I recommend it.

alright so I had just finished Survivor book 2 and unfortunately three is not out yet. so the question became what next and the answer was see what else this author has written. Jungle King ended up being my choice after all who doesn't like dinosaurs. I do think putting the MC in a speedo is tantamount to blasphemy but with the exception of the egregious faux pas I really enjoyed the story. lastly I have to mention the narrator who did a fantastic job of helping bring the story..

Suspension of non-belief suspended

There is only so much disbelief one can suspend. The situation is unbelievable and the characters are worse. Even the details of surviving were only barely researched. Bad actions somehow succeed when in no situation would an intelligent person would not even attempt them. They also exhibit strength and skills in hunting that is not common or expected from their background and would take years to develop. I have serious doubt as to continuing the series.

Very good listen

It was an enjoyable listen, and started off in a way I don't typicality find in most books of this kind.

Story-wise, it was a fun and I am looking forward to seeing how the MC developes going forward with the hoard of women around him. I do think things could have been expanded a bit though. Characters lamenting the number of times they had to attempt something before finding a method that worked, or maybe the MC expressing more of his hesitation.

Narration was good in my opinion, but I think that if this had been dual narrated Steve could have been more expressive in his style.

Great story!

Thank you to the author for not just writing gratuitous smut (beware Eric vall books). The narrator does a good job, but sounds like my grandpa which is a bit off putting.. not exactly what I want to imagine. He could read for a sloth novels, but not this genera..
