Publisher's Summary

He’s an ex-superhero on a mission to save the world...and get hot chicks.

It’s the end of the 21st century, and Hunter McNeil is your average, ordinary, ex-Army Ranger with superpowers. He’s serving time unjustly in a Supermax for supervillains when a botched prison break puts him in the crosshairs of an Army general who runs the Super-Powered Combatants Corp.

Turns out a coordinated strike has put supervillains in charge of every major city in the world, and Hunter is the United States’ only hope at restoring order.

And so Hunter sets out to do what he does best: kill supervillains. Save the world. And build a harem of smokin’ hot, super-powered women to help him.

Warning: This book contains violence, profanity, and mature content. It also contains a harem of hot women. You have been warned.

Half Literary Porn

Shades of Grey but with super heroes and super villains. Probably a little more graphic than Shades of Grey actually.

After the fight Hunter gets a Hawaii vacation

Hunter McNeil (formally code name Mr. Shield) is an ex-superhero, traitor to the U.S. government turned smuggler serving a 50-year sentence at Karkarin International Prison, the under water prison. He is just a year into his sentence with mass murderers, serial killers, terrorist, human traffickers, and other degenerates all with super-powers when there is a jail break. Karkarin was a mile underwater off the coast of nowhere; rumor to be Hawaii. This was not a prison break-out but a break-in. Some organization breached the walls of the prison flooding the prison while liberating some prisoners and killing many of the inmates. We never find out the name of the organization.

That is the start of the story. Action right off the back, which continues with interludes of sex, graphic sex. Come on he was a year in prison, and you did see the cover of the book.

Hunter is a smuggler, not a murderer. He has a code. That is why the U.S. Military Super-Powered Combatants Corps felt comfortable offering him an opportunity to earn his freedom while saving the world. The action continues with him combating all kinds of criminals with various powers. Tension is ratchet up because Hunter is not at full strength. As a prisoner he had to wear a collar, which suppress his powers. After a year of inactivity, Hunter becomes physically incapacitated when he uses his powers. Now he is going up against super criminals: Spike with thick skin as tough as Kevlar and regenerate abilities and Antimatter a warlord. He can psychokinetically contain antimatter and channel it.

The fights are in Tokyo and Japan, on land, sea, and air. Hunter was saddled with the inexperienced Nova (the cover girl) who can throw fire and the feisty Yuki who can phase through solids.

623 superpower individuals were assassinated in a coordinated attack. Supercriminals ruled the world. If the government retaliates the criminals will kill citizens. The government hired Hunter to retake the world. He’s a criminal and the government can claim plausible deniability. Enjoy the action.

Formulaic and Predictable

The premise of the story and decent ratings at the time were the reasons I gave this one a try. Unfortunately the rest of the story followed the typical overpowered main character (MC) in a haram setting storyline. I found that the MC was too full of himself and that made him obnoxious. The MC's repetitive self descriptions of his great physique were unnecessary and tedious. The introduction of the over the top super hot anime girl partway in the story just ruined any possibility of the suspension of disbelief. Finally the plot ended up being rather predictable. Still, to each their own. I hope your experience was better than mine.

better than I was expecting

this was actually a very good book, I found it to be quite interesting because the main character wasn't some overpowered guy, and it was pretty interesting how the author portrayed him

Super fun

This is an homage to the anti hero.
Where the main character doesnt like how the world actually works and tries to do something about it.
He did "bad" things for the good reasons and paid the price for it.
A solid 8/10

Trash thay had unrealized potential

I guess I should have read the harem part. The relationships with women were like they were written be a 14 year old. The concepts behind the heroes had promise but man the author messed it up bad. Don't bother with this one.

Ehh....

Mr. Markam’s Succubus series is a lot better. The characters in the book are too shallow for my taste.

A fun bit of wish fulfilment.

The narrator elevated this fun trashy novel. He did struggle with Asian accents which is unfortunate for a novel set mostly in Tokyo.

I give this 89 eye rolls! 🙄😵‍💫

I finished it but I have regrets. I normally don’t bash a storyline. I don’t assume I’m smarter than the author who’s spent so long drafting said book. I just say things like this wasn’t for me.. but this book really has some issues.
Ok we start out in a under water super max prison for people with superpowers. We meet Hunter. He escapes during a jail break and is caught by the government. His old bosses. Told some crazy stuff asked to save us all! Here he is partnered with lieutenant Smith.. a strong independent woman. Who was his handler. She has fire powers. She has DD breast. But hey he’s been locked up for a year. I get it. This is the beginning of the end for the real story. Soon after they start their journey to kill the bad guys. Hunter lays on the I’m hottest guy on earth and has no respect for any female he meets. But he hates it if they try to kill him. Poor Hunter. The book is pretty much racist with regards to Japanese dialect and culture. But by the time we get there we also have changed to an old penthouse forum and things don’t recover. I thought they might. I thought ok he’s been locked up for a year the author really wants him to get it out of his system………. But no it got worse. Worse because all of the story building pertaining to lieutenant Smith was a complete waste. She killed someone and was upset. See she’s female so she’s not tough like a man so the author has to let her go….. Hunter with his Doctorate in I’ve got a big one. Treats her the best way he can and it’s like a bad porno. Cause you’re like WAIT HOW WHAT HUH. I telling you this so you can realize that you’ve entered a porno and you can stop trying to make sense of what just happened. After this moment Smith becomes a sex slave and is useless. They kill the bad people. It makes Hunter cockier. You see the threesome coming and it’s Hunter telling them what to do every minute. Because they don’t have independent thoughts anymore. They should. I’d think it would be possible to allow all 3 to remain in control of independent thoughts and actions. But I wonder if the blood supply was turned off to the authors brain by this point.
Kudos to the narrator. I don’t know how he read this book out loud making the Japanese sex sounds…. I am dizzy from all of the eye rolling.

meh

storyline could got more stars if the main character 'hunter' hadnt been made out to be a relic of the 60' bond school of romance

too much graphic emphasis on the sex scenes
and his ability to get every woman he meats to succumb to his less than bond like charms

poor writing and rather dated ideology really

but what do I know

I can't write ! but I know I skipped those bits as it was eye rolling cut n paste from any school boy erotic storyline

Good story with quite some action

Liked the narrator.  Deep superhero voice. Something like r c bray.

The story is good. Funny. And the scenes play out well. I found them following scene by scene easy.  Didn't feel I had to quicken the audio speed to anything beyond  x1.1

Not a lot of story fillers, the story comes at you quite a lot.  So I stayed engaged. Unlike other books where side stories take a few hours away from main story.

Chapter 16 not needed. It's just a sex scene. We don't need that shit. Don't want a guy telling me how horny he is and what he's doing. edit. there seems to be quite a few scenes like this. then saw that it's a superhero " harem" book. wtf. who enjoys the s3x scenes crap? give us story!!!

Not for me

I wanted to like it - I love comedic sci-fi, but I couldn't listen to more than a couple of hours before giving up. I understand he's an alpha male, but a lot of the humour doesn't rise above this level When he first sees the gorgeous female who'll be his partner - "She wasn't just a tall glass of water - she was a fancy cocktail. And I wouldn't mind having my cock in her tail, if you know what I mean"

Awesome story

This was an awesome story. The only thing I had to grumble about is the fact that there is only one narrator. This story would be better if there was a female narrator as well

A Redditor writes a book...

You know that, I had high hopes for this. Based on the themes and stuff I figured it's be like Super Heroes for Sale and even Superpowereds series, but Nope. I'm halfway through and I'm getting a refund.

There are a few minor spoilers below...

To start with, the main character/narrator is the 'Coolest guy in the world', except he the most arrogant, rude, sexist and racist tool ever.
Every time a woman is introduced to the story, the description of her goes on forever, mainly focusing on the naughty bits along with the crude comments to match. Also, there've only been 2 women introduced, and conveniently they are both bisexual and also like to walk around naked. Of course. I can kinda tell where this is going to go later in the book.

In one of the parts the main character destroys some equipment worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and gets all annoyed when they won't instantly give him a new one.

Oh, and his 1st mission - Guess where that is? Thats right - Japan! so the writer gets to live out his fantasy which was crafted by reddit posts and schoolboy fantasy.

The descriptions of the intimate times go on for waaaaay longer than needed and are just gratutious.

So - If you want a badly written character playing out the inane fantasy scribbles of a sheltered 15-yr old schoolboy then this is the book for you.

The narrator was great though - Good range of voices and kept a decent pace up.

Great story spoiled by misogynistic lead

They premis of the story was good, with pacy action and enjoyable characters - except Hunter the lead character, who I found stomach churningly neanderthal. The sex scenes read like bad porn and after listening to the 1st I skipped the following ones and was glad to finish the book.

Funny and entertaining!

Fresh feeling brought to super villians! Outside the box powers and the charisma and comedy in some of the characters makes it really enjoyable!

Took me a second to get used to Hunters voice, but by the end the narrator's voice really suits the character!

Only bad thing was that it ended and there's not another 10 already out! Can't wait for more!

It was a great story, (apart from the smutty stuff but I was warned in the description so that's my fault for continuing on reading)
It took a bit too get used to the voice but I just imagined it being corpse which was quite amusing 🤣
Overall I really enjoyed it, was well descriptive and helped me visualise the story and it kept me addicted to the story to the point I couldn't stop listening Hagar can't wait till next book 😆

American Grossness

This story is chock full of the arrogance and narcissism that is the uniquely American. It makes for many an eye roll and scoff while listening. Add to that the offensively inaccurate accents by the reader. Super glad I didn’t pay for this title.

You need a smut or x rated tittle

This had good potential but was ruined with the overly graphic sex scenes, so if you like superheros and fiction with a porn touch this Is for you, otherwise give it a pass.
