Publisher's summary

Dr. Belisa Vranich's ground-breaking second audiobook teaches the science, techniques, and benefits of breathing correctly and efficiently for warriors in all walks of life.

People are less in touch with their bodies - and especially their breathing - than ever before. Ironically, athletes and others who pride themselves on taking care of their bodies actually put themselves at greater risk. Why? Because they’re asking their body to take on next-level demands, but failing at life’s most essential skill: efficient breathing.

Proper breathing is the world’s most powerful biohack. Learning it will help you feel better, avoid injury, and perform at your very best (including in bed!). Champion gladiators, master martial artists, even spearfishers all had one thing in common: efficient breathing to achieve flawless execution.

An elite few still understand: Navy SEALs who need to make the perfect shot, super-elite weightlifters who truly understand how to harness and channel their energy, free-divers who can spend seemingly impossible amounts of time underwater, and high-profile execs who keep calm before multi-billion-dollar presentations.

You can learn their secrets.

From the corporate athlete to the tactical ninja, Breathing for Warriors is a practical, science-forward audiobook that focuses on everything related to breathing and performance - from muscles and workouts to an impenetrable inner game.

Highly Recommend

I started training for the Memorial Day Murph hero workout in February as this was only the 2nd time I would be doing it but the first time using the 20lb vest. (1mile run, then 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, and 300 air squats, ending with another mile run, all while wearing a 20lb vest). I struggled right away with breathing while running from the constriction of the vest. My mind would focus on how uncomfortable I was and I couldn't get into any rhythm and would fatigue quickly. I knew I needed help breathing and searched around and decided on this book. Implimenting the techniques from the book I was able to dramatically improve my stamina and my recovery time for any exercise has been cut down by at least half! Based on my progress I have a goal of completing the murph in 40 minutes and based on my practice it should be possible. But only because of the lessons learned from the book. Wish me luck! Highly recommend this book for anyone, even the non-athletes. Read it and you will understand why.

48 miles down

I listened to this book before I did rim to rim to rim in the Grand canyon. I've gone every year for the past 3 years. this year I tried the practices that were given in this book and it had a profoundly positive impact! highly recommend this book.
I will say though that implementing these practices without any practice or conditioning and doing them for 48 miles made me inoperably sore in areas I've never been sore before. so I'd recommend practicing these before you use them out in the field.

informative

It was very informative. I kind of wish they use people other than the authors to read the book as the voices did not seem appropriate at times for the contents being read. I like the content, the people seem fine enough just did not seem to work together.
