Story
There is nothing more essential to our health and well-being than breathing. Yet, as a species, humans have lost the ability to breathe correctly, with grave consequences. Journalist James Nestor travels the world to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. The answers aren’t found in pulmonology labs, as we might expect, but in the muddy digs of ancient burial sites, secret Soviet facilities, New Jersey choir schools, and the smoggy streets of São Paulo. Nestor tracks down men and women exploring the hidden science behind ancient breathing practices.

People are less in touch with their bodies - and especially their breathing - than ever before. Story
This lecture took place in the largest auditorium of the Moscow State University (named after M. V. Lomonosov). This special event was organized for the staff of the university. It was likely the classified nature of Buteyko’s research during the 1960s (for first Soviet spaceship missions or Soviet Cosmos) and exclusiveness of his discoveries that predetermined the organization of this lecture. Hence, it was definitely a very large and significant event for the scientific staff of the Moscow State University, the most famous and prestigious university of the USSR.

The breathwork utilizes the remarkable healing and transformative potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness. These states engender a rich array of experiences with unique healing potential - reliving childhood memories, infancy, birth and prenatal life, and elements from the historical and archetypal realms of the collective unconscious.

Story
Thrive or die: That's the rule of evolution. Despite this brutal logic, some species have learned to survive in even the most hostile conditions. Others couldn't - and perished. While incremental genetic adaptations hone the physiology of nearly every creature on this planet, there's another evolutionary force that is just as important: the power of choice. In this explosive investigation into the limits of endurance, journalist Scott Carney discovers how humans can wedge control over automatic physiological responses into the breaking point between stress and biology.

Since this book is short and the exercise are specific. I ended up re buying it in print form.
The narration was great as was the content. I preferred it to his earlier book, because it's quick and to the point.

New Beginning
I just finished Close Your Mouth for the third time. I am amazed at what I have learned and what I am putting into practice already. I have struggled with inherited emphysema for 26 years. I have never heard anyone, doctor or layperson, mention I should breathe out of my nose. I was a chronic mouth breather. I am just starting on this journey so I will keep you posted on Facebook. Thank you so much for writing this book and now I am on to Oxygen Advantage. I will get off this oxygen tank! People will hear about it now...from me!
