Bazinga

I learned some tips on how to battle certain cravings. It was also helpful in pointing out patterns that people have towards their favorite foods and the things they do to get them. I realized I'd sometimes exhibit these traits when I get a craving and drive to the store for a specific item; usually a snack. HAHA. The information is useful and the book was short. It was a short 15 minute listen at my listening speed. The narrator did a fine job and I have no complaints.

Disclaimer: I've been listening at 2x speed for so long anything else sounds like slow motion. My enjoyment of the narrator is based on my listening speed. I only leave 5 stars for books I've listened to multiple times. I'll update my review if I listen again.

I requested this book from the author, narrator, or publisher in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Maybe I'm not a food addict?

I received this book for free, though the review is of my own accord.

Having gone through this now, I do not believe I have a food addict, at least according to the steps this book takes you through to figure out if you are. Maybe if I were then I'd have found this a little more useful.
The book is too short to go into many details about food addiction. It covers a lot of info on a cursory level, but the only chapter that is longer than 3 minutes is the one with tips to overcoming your food addition, but most of those are things like "If you are triggered by seeing a chocolate cake in a window while walking to work, then change your route to work." It's not bad advice, but it's all very basic.

This book also contains some weirdly phrased sentences. They got the point across, but they were strange. Also, with most chapters being as short as they are, there really isnt a need for a concluding sentence in each chapter with something like "And why is this? That's something we'll cover in the next chapter." It's just filler. Leave that stuff out.

If you think you are actually a food addict, this might be of some use to you in answering a few questions, but that's about it.

Highly Recommend

Finally a good book about eating disorders that doesn't blame the person who is struggling. I highly recommend this book to those struggling with food addiction.

Good intro to food addictions with practical tips

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Good introduction to what food addiction is, and is not, and ways to identify what foods you’re possibly addicted to. The book doesn’t go into assessing why you may have an addiction (but then again it’s only 30 minutes), but does provide useful tips to manage an addiction and help lessen it and consider the impact that it has on your life. Worth the time for the food and focus replacements alone.

To the point

I quite enjoyed this book. Many books take too long to get to the point, or tell you how to do something. This book got right to the point, told you how to fix it, and even told you resources that you could use to help yourself. I am glad I took a chance on this book. I will be doing what Michale Stefan recommended. Thanks for the advice and help. “I requested this audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.

Short and to the point

At first I wasn’t a fan of the narrator, but he grew on me because the material actually matches his tone pretty well. This is a fast listen, and I like that it goes into a bit of brain chemistry. Unfortunately it wasn’t anything novel. I suggest if you want to go more in depth to read The Sugar Brain Fix.
