Wow, Where do I begin

First, the narrator is not effective. She actually sounds like a computer generated voice. I also find the content insulting. Referring to HSP's as 'delicate' - really? HSP's may be more sensitive to stimuli, but that in no way makes them 'delicate'. The advice in the different chapters is just advice you would get in any business or relationship book. Nothing unique or helpful. I wouldn't waste your money. I'm sorry that I did.

repetitive

This book repeats the same things over, and over, and over, and it's extremely hard to get through the book when each chapter seems to start with 5 minutes of describing HSP traits.

I recommended this to family after reading

I have anxiety frequently but have had a bad bout over the past couple of months, probably inspired by a business venture and self-doubt but affecting everything in my life. I was desperate and reading everything I could, as well as using anxiety subliminals. I found this book and it helped immediately. I've had zero focus lately so I didn't even read all the way through (I can't seem to finish anything - if I put a book down even once, I have trouble going back to it), but what I did read made a huge difference. I got it for free from Kindle Unlimited but would have paid for it. I will probably buy it once my Kindle Unlimited trial runs out, because my son also suffers, and I think this approach will help him. I find myself getting anxious and thinking back to what I read and being able to calm down and not let it stop me. I had stopped working on my business at all - every time I thought of working on it, I would have an anxiety attack. After reading this, I forced myself to get back to it, gave myself a goal and a deadline, and made both. This is huge for me - I was afraid I wouldn't be able to start up again. Thank you, Barry, for sharing what helped you. I enjoy new and novel approaches to old problems, because sometimes you have to approach them from a different angle. Even if an old angle helped at one time, if it stops working then you have to find something else. For me, this was it!

Buy this book! You have nothing to lose.

This book...wow!!! I began suffering from anxiety about two months ago. It was so hard for me to accept because I had never been through anything like this before. After several therapy visits and doctors visits, i began to feel better. I decided to purchase this book to help me through the final hump. I am amazed, it like he’s my personal therapist who knows everything I’ve been through! If you’re on the fence, get! This!! Book!!! It easy to read and simplifies solutions to anxiety.

Teaching Fearful Imaginations to Become Wise

McDonagh does an excellent job translating the steps needed to turn the after-effects of panic attacks against themselves. Pair this with some videos or books on cognitive behavior therapy to hack your "what ifs" before they start.

Disappointing.

Half of this book is dedicated to social anxiety disorder. As I wanted more insight into life as a HSP I was very disappointed and abandoned the book half way through. I'm glad I listened to this as part of a trial and didn't pay for it.
