Reassuring and liberating

As many creative people do, I have often struggled to own my sensitivity without feeling ashamed or weak. This audiobook provided me with concrete solutions to overcome my sorrow and thrive in a world that often sees vulnerability as a weakness.

The author, who is a highly sensitive woman herself, shares powerful habits that can be introduced into everyday life to use emotional intelligence to our advantage. She also provides insights into the brain's traits and tendencies behind emotional intelligence.

One of the most valuable aspects of this audiobook was the concrete tips on how to heal from past trauma and relieve stress and anxiety. The author provides over seven straightforward daily practices to incorporate into a new lifestyle that helps us understand, express, and process our feelings.

I appreciated that this audiobook was accessible to everyone, regardless of whether or not they have any prior knowledge of mindful practices. The guidance provided in the audiobook was in-depth and helped me shift from shame to self-esteem, from negative thoughts to positive ones, and transform my past trauma into my strongest weapon.

This audiobook is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to own their sensitivity without feeling ashamed and use their emotional intelligence as a strength.

Women who are Highly Sensitive People

Are you a woman over 40 who believes they are a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), then this book is for you. The author explains that the most highly sensitive people are women. As she explains, HSP is not a disease or a disorder; in fact, in the right circumstances, it can be a strength. Unfortunately, many don’t see it that way, so let’s change that perception. The author explains emotional intelligence (EI), although due to our male-dominated society and historical prejudices, many look down on EI, yet it really can be thought of as a strength. And highly sensitive people usually have a high emotional intelligence. These people are capable of reading a room and knowing the emotional state of others. The author discusses in the audiobook how HSP should find jobs that support them and discusses what kind of jobs these are and how to go about finding one. She also discusses how to use mindfulness and meditation as ways to reduce stress and bring calmness into your life. Along with healthy eating, exercise, and a good sleep routine versus methods of self-medication which eventually are self-destructive. I thought this was a great audiobook and would definitely recommend it to people who are HDP to aid them in bringing calmness and peace to their lives.

For My Mom

My mom is a highly sensitive person (Empath) with her fair share of traumatic experiences and troubling childhood memories.Though I have also had my fair share of trauma, I still wasn't able to fully figure out how to help her cope and improve her present life. How a Woman Over 40 Can Improve Living as a Highly Sensitive Person has helped me better understand hi sensitivity and how to help a highly sensitive person. I believe these 7 Powerful Habits to Cope with Painful Memories & Toxic Thoughts by Regulating Your Emotions will help my mom understand herself better, and has certainly helped me understand her better, and not only how she can cope, but how me and my sister can cope with her high sensitivity as well. I especially like the chapter "write it out and let it out" "fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.." Journaling and every age and every level is such a helpful habit that this book highlighted. It was gentle with things like "don't beat yourself up if you don't do it every day" "keep it simple" "start small" which is especially helpful for an HSP trying to achieve perfection.

This audiobook was gentle and powerful with great concepts to help HSPs as well as their close family cope and improve living.

A powerful guidebook for highly sensitive women!

The author has provided an array of information tailored to women who self-define themselves as highly sensitive people (HSP). However, this audiobook is a wonderful resource for any woman over 40. She provides an examination of topics such as the 7 habits to cope with painful memories and toxic thoughts, development of emotional intelligence, as well as the role of mindfulness to calm anxiety and obsessive thinking. The issue of empathy fatigue is explored, a danger for many women who are highly sensitive. Areas recommended to stave off stress include, among others, focusing on a connection with nature as well as the importance of rest and sleep. This audiobook contains an array of wisdom for women who frequently feel different from others due to their heightened sensitivity. It normalizes what many HSPs struggle with, offering support in their daily lives. This is a well-written and thoughtful audiobook. I highly recommend it!

Great for HSP Woman

Overall I thought the audiobook was easy to follow and understand and I gained a lot of background on women with high levels of emotions. I can easily see myself having a few of the qualities even though it is not me to a T. I particularly liked the portion of the book that discussed the differences between males and females when it comes to emotions.

A great resource!

After listening to the audiobook, I gained valuable insight into how women over 40 can improve their lives as highly sensitive individuals. the book provided practical strategies to regulate emotions, cope with painful memories, and overcome toxic thoughts. Applying these habits has been transformative for me, especially since I decided to write my own book related to this topic. It's clear that being stuck in negative situations and thoughts is detrimental to our mental health, and this book is valuable resource for anyone looking to make positive changes in their lives.
This audiobook is motivating, inspiring, and encourages us to take control of our lives and priorities our mental wellbeing.

Great Natural Coping Strategies For Women Over 40

Until I listened to this audiobook, I had not heard the term HSP, although I am aware of people with sensitivity to loud noises and other things that don't bother the average person. The author discusses many issues that disrupt the balance in the lives of women over 40 who fall into the HSP category. There is a discussion about emotional intelligence and how it applies to HSPs and women in general. Ms Hassan explains the three types of empathy and warns of the dangers of unrealistic expectations for women, both internal and external. Also emphasized is the importance of a positive attitude and making sure there is enough time to rest away from agendas and the demands of others. My favorite bit of advice was about the importance of Nature in finding your peaceful center in the sights, smells, and sounds of the outdoors, and how Nature refreshes and restores the Body-Mind-Spirit connection. I know this to be true. Very educational learning about HSPs, not so much a label as an empathy indicator.

Setting Boundaries is Key for HSP

One of the things I love most about this book is that it emphasizes the importance of nurturing the body and spirit. The author highlights the restorative power of nature and encourages readers to connect with the natural world to find inner peace. The book addresses empathy fatigue, a common struggle for many highly sensitive women, myself included, and offers strategies to prevent burnout and establish healthy boundaries in relationships. This book is a combination of scientific knowledge, practical advice, and empathetic understanding and it is an essential resource for anyone seeking to navigate life as a highly sensitive person or to better understand and appreciate the empathic souls among us.
