very interesting

I am now on my second listen of Meditations to Change your Brain. The first time I just listened and took notes. Now I am going back and completing the meditations as I listen. I find it very interesting. I have no doubt it will work. Must think positively!

Absolutely effective

What made the experience of listening to Meditations to Change Your Brain the most enjoyable?

What was most enjoyable was the narration by the authors. The authors made the book therapeutic. They gave each section the imperative view point necessary for the listener to hone in and listen intently!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Meditations to Change Your Brain?

The most memorable moment was the meditation activities ! This book must be obtained as an audible version I cannot imagine it would be beneficial in paper form.

What about Rick Hanson and Rick Mendius ’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed the professional respectability and authority each Dr. Presented. This was not an ego, battle , it was team work with one goal in mind which is to help the reader develop these new skills!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

If I were to make a movie of this book, I would not change it's title, I would add a sub title , Meditation to change your brain and your mind!

Any additional comments?

Rarely do I encounter a book that I am motivated to complete in one sit that has made profound changes in my life. This book is something I cam apply to my life and I have. The concepts have given me the courage to continue with the personal work I have accomplished. I am a health care professional and I would recommend this book to my clients!

I really liked the brief intro to each meditation, then guided meditation, then conclusive remarks about the meditation format.

What other book might you compare Meditations to Change Your Brain to and why?

I usually read more Buddhist type meditation books but I really found this to be an interesting and helpful departure from my regular meditation practice.

Incredibly boring

What would have made Meditations to Change Your Brain better?

Fewer golf references. I get that the author wanted to hinge the book around a real life story, but golf? Puh-lease.

What could Rick Hanson and Rick Mendius have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

No golf stories and a less monotone narration.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

When you put people to sleep, you know you've got a problem.

Boring

What would have made Meditations to Change Your Brain better?

I do not know what I expected, a more clinical discussion perhaps, I thought this was going to be more informative and less boring. I have to admit that I have not listened to the entire thing. It was so monotonous and grating on the ears that if I continued to listen I was seriously afraid I would go mad. I do not like to give bad reviews, but I had to on this one, it was that grating. Normally I would have read it long ago and then asked for a refund, But I purchased this with others and frankly forgot about it. Wish I had read it then so I could have returned it.

What was most disappointing about Rick Hanson and Rick Mendius ’s story?

the voice

Would you be willing to try another one of Rick Hanson and Rick Mendius ’s performances?

probably not

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

surprise, I guess I expected more of a clinical discussion

Total waste of money even on sale

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Getting to the point instead of going on and on about what the book was going to say.

What could Rick Hanson and Rick Mendius have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Again, get to the point. Clearly the authors didn't have enough material to write a whole book or they wouldn't have spent so much time explaining what they were going to do.

What didn’t you like about Rick Hanson and Rick Mendius ’s performance?

They sounded like they were giving a sales pitch.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger and disappointment

Any additional comments?

I never did get past the sales pitch. I had hoped this would be a relaxing book and, although it did put me to sleep, it was anything but. It reminded me of the advertisements on the internet that claim you can lose weight following one easy step and then go on and on and on...but you never get that tip. I found this book so irritating I didn't even want to fast forward to see if it had anything of substance.
