Publisher's Summary

More than 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain, according to an Institute of Medicine report released in 2011. For many, chronic pain is part of an autoimmune disease, but all too often doctors turn to the same solution: painkilling drugs.

But all of this medication simply isn't helping. As Dr. Peter Osborne, the leading authority on gluten sensitivity and food allergies, has found, the real solution often lies in what you eat.

In No Grain, No Pain, Dr. Osborne shows how grains wreak havoc on the body by causing tissue inflammation, creating vitamin and/or mineral deficiencies, and triggering an autoimmune response that causes the body to attack itself. But he also offers practical steps to find relief. Using his drug-free, easy-to-implement plan, you will be able to eliminate all sources of gluten and gluten-like substances, experience significant improvement in 15 days, and eliminate pain within 30 days.

Not a Pain to listen to

Dr Osborne gives very good advice to anyone who has not started a no grain regimen diet. Lots of testimony for and descriptive outcomes for positive reinforcement. He mentions others who have taken up the functional medicine banner. As a lay person who has been on a no grain diet for awhile now I can simply say it works. It works with The Keto diet, and a fasting regimen, with or without carbs. My best outcome has been with the LCHF diet, plus Ketogenics, plus no grain. This book is a great primer.

Very Good Book

Has a lot of detailed information other related books don't have. May be due to Dr. Osborne's experience in the field of functional medicine as a practitioner.

Everyone who eats needs to read this book

I would recommend this book to every person who puts food in their mouth. Its important to know what is happening to our food supply and how we all may be affected by it.

This book covers every aspect of health that I ever had concerns with. I'm fully satisfied. I'm going to help promote the ideas presented in every way I can.

Better if written more simply. Good theory, poor delivery.

So here's a doctor who wants to impress us with all the silly names of conventional medicine for diseases . He also uses fear both as a marketing tool and to maintain the readers attention, the author lost my respect within the first 10 minutes of listening . He makes a book out of something that could be described in 30 minutes instead he takes nine hours and 22 minutes blah blah blah .
The grain issue test is really quite simple without going to an expensive AMA Doctor for blood tests, simply going to grain free diet using a food journal to track everything that goes in your mouth and at the end of this 30 days to determine if you feel better .
Best advice to anyone is : keep it simple , keep good notes (food intake and hourly reaction) and be the judge yourself about what works for you. Become more aware of the body you are living in, that in itself will raise your health level by making better choices . Research the topic "food rotation diet " to eliminate allergies from food . 50% food intake of vegetables and fasting will quickly clean out clogged intestines . If you don't take care of your body where will you live ?
Also this doctor offers little practical advice about real alternatives in today's food availability . My own experience is that the living food diet, as much as you can handle ,with eating and juicing will be your best medicine versus anything that involves the fats and meats as alternatives that are bought in American stores or drugs prescribed by the AMA drug doctors .

Excellent book

This book was very well written and provided a wealth of new information about the dangers of grains. I really liked the fact that the author made the program seem workable by providing so many meal ideas.

If you are sick period..I recommend you read this!

If you could sum up No Grain, No Pain in three words, what would they be?

Lose your diseases!

What was one of the most memorable moments of No Grain, No Pain?

Learning the truth about All grains.

Which scene was your favorite?

All are my favs!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It caused me to want to cry as I see how we have been so deceived about the dangers cause to our bodies while "thinking" we are eating nutritional foods. Changed my life!

Any additional comments?

Nutrition is key and how you obtain it needs a REALLY CLOSER LOOK.....Beware of labels and lies and formally inherited belief systems!! Dr. Osborne really cares about his patients! Trust me ! He is now my husbands doctor and has helped him in a few weeks like no one did for his diseases gone cronic over past 3 years. We finally have renewed hope of complete recovery!!

Difficult to follow or revisit

What did you like best about No Grain, No Pain? What did you like least?

The concept (best) the format (least)

What do you think your next listen will be?

Have not decided

What aspect of Mick Stephenson’s performance would you have changed?

No recommendation

Could you see No Grain, No Pain being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Self help tv lecture maybe, like a pbs special.

Any additional comments?

It's difficult to revisit or review certain sections of book in this format, may be better suited to hard copy ownership. Links that were referenced frequently were inconvenient to record/ write. The information is good but wish there were better balance between people's stories and the recommended plan or suggestions for the reader.
