Publisher's Summary

Josh "the Shark" Altman has achieved extraordinary success in a traditional industry and in the most competitive real estate market in the country - all without being "discovered" or catching the proverbial big break. He worked for it. He figured it out. He failed. He learned. He wrote his own script.

The key to his success? Confidence - informed, intelligent, calculated confidence. Calculated confidence means training yourself in your chosen field, knowing it so well that you can trust your gut instincts to guide you toward the best possible option. When key opportunities present themselves, you are ready to seize them.

In It's Your Move, one of the stars of Bravo's hit TV series Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles shares invaluable and street-smart strategies for how to build your confidence, establish your reputation, master the knowledge you need to succeed, take the right risks, and course correct when you make a mistake. Drawing on his experiences negotiating multimillion-dollar deals and offering impeccable service to his celebrity and high-profile clients, Altman shows you all the right moves to help you become better, stronger, and more effective - whatever your profession or ambitions.

Just a good story

The guy is a great success and shows that in America anyone who has determination can succeed and I respect him for that.
The book is just the story of him getting there.

Enjoyable listen

What did you love best about It's Your Move?

This was an easy listen. Josh narrates well and it is an interesting, gentle, motivation to be self confident.

Any additional comments?

If you are looking for insider tips, etc., you won't find them here. This is strictly a bio/motivation book. I enjoyed it since it was well narrated and I did feel encouraged after listening.

On to the next move

I definitely recommend this book not only to people aspiring to work in real estate, but to anyone who's ready to make their next move and has some kind of fear holding them back. Josh pretty much tells it like it is, without sugarcoating anything, that way it needs to be told to make people realize they are capable of doing anything.

Overall a good book but recommend a title change

I think that Josh was channeling his inner T.O. "I Love Me Some Me" when writing this book. Like most self help/inspirational books there are some great takeaways and this one was had quite a few as well. I thought it could have been shorter and still effective but overall a good book. If arrogance is a turnoff then seek inspiration elsewhere. However, if you see it as unwavering confidence...you will definitely enjoy this book.

Altman it’s your move

This book plays to the real estate agent. I think it would have been a lot worse had Josh Altman himself not narrated it. He was good and got his points across. I would say there is some good take away and a small amount of fluff. Glad to hear the story behind his success.

Very Good!

This is definitely not a step by step how to guide to success. This book is about the success of a man and his success and stories. This book can still be used as a tool for motivation and there are still many very useful things that you can still take from this book and apply in many professions and other aspects of life.

Great book on how to develop yourself

I like the fact that Josh explains everything clearly from A-Z. It gives you a real life experience that can be used and applied into many situations.
