Publisher's Summary

Instant Wall Street Journal best seller!

From the first female real estate broker on Million Dollar Listing LA, a no-nonsense guide to analyzing big egos, deflecting power plays, and taking control of any room.

Behind Tracy Tutor's on-screen persona is an uncanny knack for projecting confidence in the most intimidating of circumstances. The breezy, tough-talking, utterly inimitable businesswoman has rivaled her male costars to land increasingly high-profile deals in the world of LA real estate. Now, Tracy is leveraging her years of experience to write the go-to manual for any woman struggling to convince people she's in charge.

If you get thrown off course by narcissistic personalities or freaked out by high-stakes situations, don't assume you're weak. When fear is running the show, you get wrapped up in your head and start missing important cues. Yes, the people you're dealing with seem scary, but they're more predictable than you think. Once you understand them, it's easy to push the right levers of influence to get what you want.

Through candid, hilarious stories of her rise through a world of misogyny and cutthroat business dealings (text message exchanges with creeps included!), Tracy offers a crash course in the psychology of power dynamics and social signaling. You'll learn:

  • What five things you should always find out about someone before you meet them
  • How to choose the perfect outfit for an important meeting, even when dressing on a budget
  • When and how to use humor strategically to lighten the mood and command authority

This audiobook is a must-listen for any ambitious woman who wants to win her next business confrontation before she even walks into the room.

Critic Reviews

"Tracy is a force. If this book can capture half of her cunning wisdom, formidable personality, and work ethic, it’ll be a game changer.” (Ryan Serhant, author of Sell It Like Serhant)

“It takes a special kind of person to make it in Los Angeles, never mind in real estate. That person is Tracy Tutor. If you want to learn how to tackle life and career with a zero-fucks attitude, and grow some balls of steel while you’re at it, you’d be wise to make this book your new bible.” (Caroline Stanbury, costar of Ladies of London

“Working with A-list clients on multimillion dollar deals, stress basically rises out of the carpet. But Tracy doesn’t let fear control her. She somehow has the fire of a badass and the calmness of a Zen master no matter who she’s dealing with. This book tells you how she does it, and how you, too, can make fear your bitch.”  (Fredrik Eklund, author of The Sell)

Good advice that can be found other places

My hat is off to the author for her career success. She offers advice that is good advice, but it is presented with an enormous amount of foul language. This shows a lack of class and education on her part, which I was disappointed to find, because she seems intelligent. I didn't learn anything new that I haven't learned from other sources like Vanessa Van Edwards, Tom Hopkins, Zig Ziglar, Norman Vincent Peale, Dale Carnegie, etc. These authors have a greater command of the English language and present the same information without the street level communication style. I had to turn it off after Chapter 2. The language was too distracting from the message she's trying to send.

Very down to earth and said it like she felt

I would recommend this book for those looking to hear advise, recommendations and insight of a Realtor who is a mom and juggles a lot throughout a day!

Tracy Tells it like it is!

I like that the stories and experiences Tracy shared are relatable to all life experiences.
Whether in corporate or being entrepreneurial as we are, I truly feel better in knowing I’m not alone in the world of many different situations that occur in real estate. This book is a great tool of reference to get back and stay on track.

Big fan of MDL

I love Million Dollar Listing and is how I discovered Tracy. I was very excited to start this book since she is a great female powerhouse on the show! I think this book is very real estate oriented and reason for my rating. It’s not as over-compassing as I thought it was going to be. There are some aspects I could relate to for my career and other advice that was common-sense.

Great insight into the psychology of sales

Faded towards end, as though needed filler. However, initial chapters were rich with true insight into the psychology of sales. Have read Ecklund and Serhant and was surprised to find more depth here.

Empty Platitudes

Being a huge fan of the million dollar listing cast, I’ve read all the books. Ryan Serhant and Fredrick Eklund had actual value to offer with their words. Tracy overshadows the point of encouraging her audience with endless stories about herself. There’s a difference between scene setting and being self centered.

Love this, hope she writes another book.

I’m a big fan of Tracy on MDLLA, so I was eagerly waiting for this book to be released. I can safety say it did not disappoint. She better be working on her next book already!
