Publisher's summary

Land the deals you want and develop your instincts with million-dollar negotiation techniques.

After selling over $3 billion in real estate, including the most expensive one-bedroom house in history, Josh Altman, costar of the hit show Million-Dollar Listing Los Angeles, wants to teach you the real estate sales and negotiation tactics that have made him one of America's top agents. Buying or selling a house, whether for a client or yourself, is one of the most important (and most stressful) deals anyone can make, demanding emotional intelligence and a solid set of negotiating skills. But by mastering the same techniques that sell multi-million-dollar homes in Bel Air and Beverly Hills, you can attract buyers and close deals on any property.

Josh breaks down the art of real estate into three simple parts. First, he'll help you get business in the door during the Opening. Then he takes you step-by-step through the Work: everything between the first handshake and the last. And finally, the Close, the last step that ensures all your hard work pays off as you seal the deal.

The narrator will put you to sleep

It's too bad the author didn't narrate this book. His energy would have come across a lot better than the person who ended up narrating the book. The catch phrase "Hollywood" was used quite often the problem is that wasn't believable coming from the reading text.

Disappointing

Found it painful to listen to this guy and the content just wasn’t there. Josh’ first book was great info and had soul to it because he was reading his own words. Missed the mark on this one man.

Why didn’t Josh Narrate?!

Disappointed in this. The narrator wasn’t great and Josh should have narrated to bring it together a bit. His enthusiasm would have helped a lot. Was hoping to take something out of it and what I got was Altman’s stats and a lot of metaphors about sports, but nothing concrete. I’m an agent, a sports lover, and fan of MDLLA, but this just fell flat. So disappointed!

Do not waste your credit

I am an experienced Realtor.
I bought this without reading the reviews and wish I had not. I just went by the stars.
I hope Audible lets me send it back. It is AWFUL. This guy has an ego the size of California. I was hoping to get some tips. So far I am skimming ahead and by chapter 6 have only gotten basic sales 101 tips.
Do not waste your credit.

Disapointing

I’m a fan of Josh but was quite disappointed when I realized he’s not the narrator, mainly because the energy is not brought across as you’d expect it. I learned more from the show, story is dry and an ego booster for the AB unfortunately with not much value as a listener.

Expected more and narrator SUCKS!

Why didn’t Josh Narrate??? First of all I want to say I am a big fan of Josh and Love real estate. I bought the first book “it’s your move” and really enjoyed it. This book however, is more of a repetitive story over and over without really teaching you strategy. It’s more of an ego book and narrator is terrible. He sounds drunk and uncaring. Clearly not a closer himself! He just lost me and will never even get through the end.

Absolutely horrible book.

I never leave bad reviews, especially on books. I wanted to like this book and I really tried.

It was clearly only written to help support and build his brand. Now he can add “wrote a book” to his accomplishments. I’ve never watched his show so I have no preconceived notions.

His ego is nauseating. It's boring and repetitive. The only real actionable info in this book is the obvious: work hard, never stop working, never say no, anticipate their needs.

The best part of the book is toward the end when he began talking about negotiating, but sadly it’s a very small portion of the book. I appreciated reading about his take on negotiations. This is the only decent part of the book.

There just isn’t enough substance to be worth the time it took to read. There are better books out there and everything he said in the book could have been communicated in a blog post or even just an Instagram post.

Not super

It was boring. It would have only been interesting if he read it himself. I love his show and am a fan. Sad to say. No good

Useless

The book was useless to me because I am looking for tips and tricks that I can use immediately. I am not looking for an egoistic bibliography to tell us how good you've been. Nor do we need a load of sales pitch blanket statements to tell me what we need to do. I need to know the step-by-step detail of how.

Fantastic Book, It's the Josh you imagine

Great book and a fast listen.
Typical Josh Altman style.
Written and spoken just like Josh, the attitude, the hustle and the drive you expect.

The worst real estate book ever written

From the first paragraph I found myself trying not to vomit. A more self-congratulating, narcissistic explosion of pompous self-indulgence simply does not exist. Not 1 single interesting detail, no useful, entertaining or even mildly interesting element. Why would any credible publisher touch this garbage with 10 foot pole??
