Publisher's Summary

One kiss lasts a moment. But a thousand kisses can last a lifetime.

One boy. One girl. A bond that is forged in an instant and cherished for a decade. A bond that neither time nor distance can break. A bond that will last forever. Or so they believe.

When 17-year-old Rune Kristiansen returns from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, he has just one thing on his mind: Why had the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation?

Rune's heart was broken two years ago when Poppy fell silent. When he discovers the truth, he finds that the greatest heartache is yet to come.

A standalone young adult tearjerker romance, recommended for ages 14 and up.

A thousand tears shed

I have had so many people tell me to read this book but it took Audible for me to finally break down and do it.

I see the value in stories like this, I think there is something to learn in grief and heartbreak. I think you can't appreciate the good if you don't experience the bad. I think stories like this makes us more empathetic, sympathetic and kind.

That being said, holy moly was this one sad. I was prepared for it to be heartbreaking and that help, which is why I am warning everyone now... Be prepared to cry!

The narration was amazing. Both PJ and Katie seriously brought the story to life for me. Huge kudos to them!!

AND MY HEART ALMOST BURST!!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of A Thousand Boy Kisses to be better than the print version?

Audio always is, but I only listened!

What other book might you compare A Thousand Boy Kisses to and why?

oh I just dont know this is a sad sad beautiful story!

Which scene was your favorite?

The last one at the beach....

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

ALL OF IT!! The tears flowed....

Any additional comments?

This was a lovely story...tragic, and touching...and I was almost always fully engaged...BUT...there was some time in the beginning that I thought was drawn out a bit to long...and the ending left me needing more closure...like WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO RUNE? Other than that this was soooo sweet..and I loved Poppy and Rune and I shed tears of both sadness and joy...and I am glad they had a forever type of love...it was just an awful HEA ending...I mean I was like WOW...but I did enjoy this listen..and it is well worth your time and a credit!! SOB!!!!

3.5 Stars

Sadly I think I am in the minority on this book. Maybe I was expecting amazing because I was told by many that this was the book that affected them the most. I'm not saying it was bad or anything like that so please don't take that the wrong way. The book was good just not great. I think it was too much like another famous book with the same story line because I compared them throughout the book even though I was trying not too.
I had a very hard time connecting with these characters and at first I thought it was because they were so young but I quickly realized that was actually the opposite, I had a hard time with them being 15-17 in most of the book but they acted and talked like the were old. No teenagers would react to things the way these 2 did ( well maybe him during his angry time). This was just such a depressing book. I was expecting a very sad depressing ending but honesty it was depressing for more than 2/3 of the book and I need a lot more happy to feel the love and connection so that the sad will hit me the way this book hit others.

I really liked that the love story pretty much started started at age 8, I loved that it didn't matter to either of them what others thought unlike most YA books and I loved that the parents are on their side. Her relationship with her Grandma was sweet and I wish it had lasted longer in the book because I enjoyed the time they were talking.

The narration was a little hard for me because of the male accent but otherwise it was good.

Terrible.

I seriously hated this book so much. The emotion was forced and redundant. Can't believe I wasted my time on it

Heartbreakingly beautiful!

Now, I'm not usually one to cry when reading books or watching a movie, but this book had me emotionally by the guts from the beginning. This is probably my favorite book in the last couple years because it speaks to us about the capacity of love. You fall in love with the hero and heroine in the first few paragraphs, and you only fall deeper as the story goes on. The subjects of love, anger and abject grief were portrayed in perfect dialogue and the writing kept me captivated. The narration- just not enough words to describe how absolutely perfect it was. The male narrator made you feel what he was feeling and the female narrator was just as sweet as her character. I would like to say that this is Tillie Cole's finest book to date and it has such a memorable storyline and characters that I know I will not forget it. If you are looking for a story that will make you feel, then this story about the power of love is for you. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Now I have to go dry my face and blow my nose.

BE. STILL. MY. BEATING. HEART.

What did you love best about A Thousand Boy Kisses?

This was utterly beautiful (listening to the story this time around) and had me balling once again. I had to take a breather and get my bearings a few times because this novel is not just another read that I could just devoured. It was essential to take a step back and savor the journey and everything that was going on. It had made me feel fiercely hard, entailing ugly cries, and creating a gut wrenching adventure of friendship and love that I truly would not forget.

What does P. J. Ochlan and Katie Schorr bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Its gave me the experience of reliving the story in another perspective via audible.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were many moments that had moved me. Their kisses and the meanings behind each one. The shared moments of experiencing life and living it through the fullest.

A Thousand Kleenex Tissues!

What did you love best about A Thousand Boy Kisses?

A thousand Kleenex tissues are what you'll need when you listen to this beautiful love story. I haven't cried this much since I read John Green's The Fault in Our Stars and before that, Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook. In fact, if you combined the spirit of the two novels you'd get A Thousand Boy Kisses.

P.J. Ochlan (Rune) and Katie Schorr (Poppy) expertly narrate A Thousand Boy Kisses with exquisite grace and gut-wrenching passion. They breathe life into Rune and Poppy and make you love them with all your heart.

Recently, I was asked what art is to me. I said anything (writing, painting, dancing, acting) that evokes a visceral (positive or negative) response in the person experiencing the artist's work. Well, Tillie Cole's A Thousand Boy Kisses along with Ochlan and Schorr's narration is art at its finest. And it's, as Poppy would say, "as special as special can be."

Not so much for me

Ok first off let me tell you that I F'Love Tillie Cole but this particular book just didn't do it for me. Yes, I cried like a big'o titty baby. W/O giving spoilers....the middle of the story until the end just didn't fulfill my mind with that feeling you get when you read a story. You know that "OMGawd this is such a good read" feel!! It just didn't do it for me. And the ending.....nope, nope, nope! Not saying that this is perfect for others but just not for me. I did spend my credit on this one and I do NOT regret it. I'm happy I was able to give it a listen!!!
