Publisher's Summary

A USA Today best-selling book. Leo is a full-length, standalone romance.

Evie and Leo met in foster care as children and formed a bond of friendship. As they grew, their bond turned to love, and they vowed to make a life together when they turned 18 and were no longer a part of the system.

When Leo unexpectedly gets adopted as a teen and moves to another city, he promises Evie that he will contact her as soon as he gets there and come back for her in a few short years. She never hears from him again.

Now, eight years later, in spite of the odds, Evie has made a life for herself. She has a job. She has friends. She's content. Then a man shows up out of the blue, claiming that her long-lost love Leo sent him to check up on her. The attraction between them is undeniable. But should she trust this sexy stranger? Or is he keeping a secret about what his connection to Leo is really all about and why Leo disappeared all those years ago?

New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this audiobook is not intended for listeners under the age of 18.

I WAS RIVETED TO EVERY WONDERFUL WORD

Evie was 10 and Leo was 11 when they first became friends in Foster Care then, by the time they were 14 and 15 they had fallen in love with each other and even dreamed of a future together. But the unthinkable happened when Leo was adopted and the two devastated friends shared their first kiss and promised to keep in touch..... a promise that Leo never kept. Years later all grown up Evie was being stalked by Jake a handsome, sexy, deep brown eyed stranger....... but he had some bad news for her.

This story, that went back and forth in time to tell their love story, gripped me from the start even though I had my doubts and suspicions about the stranger who soon became Evie's whole world as their sizzling chemistry quickly boiled over. But the tragic story of what happened to Leo was a chilling and heartbreaking revelation. There's drama, angst, humor, heartbreak, secrets, revelations, romance and lust filled sex.

Worth a credit? Dual POV's, very good dual narration, a well written captivating story with likeable primary and secondary characters and a romantic sweet Epilogue makes this a very creditworthy listen. And Mia Sheridan is an author whose imaginative and romantic words have made her books an auto download for me.

Just wow

Leo is such an emotional rollercoaster. It's about two kids who grow up in the foster care system together. As they get older, Leo and Evie realize the relationship is more than platonic. When one gets adopted and had to move, they lost contact.Evie basically spent the years pining for Leo, although he'd broken her heart. Then along comes the handsome Jake.

I'm going to be the anomaly and say I knew what Jake was up to from the start. The way he was acting was a huge flag. However, his big twist and tragic backstory really worked. It wasn't so far fetched to be unbelievable yet shocking enough to keep you on edge. The story was well thought-out and made sense. I really understood the characters, their relationship and their motives. This is the type of story that will make you feel emotionally invested.

Maxine Mitchell was great. Joe Arden is one of my favorite narrators but we don't get to hear from him be much as 90% of the story was told by Evie's character

So so

The story was just interesting enough to have me skip to the end to see what happened, but the characters were boring and/or not believeable enough to get me to not skip. I had particular difficulty believing the characters at "age 12" - they were more well spoken than some adults I know.

Predictable Twist

I find Mia Sheridan really hit or miss. I loved Archers Voice, but really didn’t enjoy Midnight Lily. I would classify Leo closer to the Midnight Lily category.

“Leo”is chalk full of secrets, or should I say Jake is full of secrets and we spend most of the story in suspense waiting for Jake to reveal his secrets. I found the secret keeping frustrating and was annoyed that Evie so blindly trusted Jake in light of his refusal to answer the most basic questions about his life.
In the end, the “twist” was as predicted and Jake’s reasons for keeping his secrets, although traumatizing, not really a justification for the deception. I also found it difficult to like Jake for most of the novel, as he came across as untrustworthy and a bit whiny.
5 stars for the narration

Utterly Amazing

I've listened to 20 or so romance November the last month or so...and this novel tells the most heartwarming story of true love that I've think I've ever heard. It's right up their with The Notebook and Bridges of Madison County. I will definitely be listening to this many times in the future. Also the narrators brought Evie, Leo and Jake to life in such an amazing way that I feel as if I really know them as if they are people I know in my own life.

I loved this book

I have become a big Mia Sheridan fan. I truly enjoy the way her books are not just love stories; but stories of hope, courage and redemption.

Live dealt the hero and heroine a lot of challenges; eventually they rose above what live dealt them and found each other and also made a difference it their world.

The chemistry between the couple was also great. I highly recommend this book.

After reading or listening to her books I usually have a smile on my face and hope in my heart.

good story

Would you consider the audio edition of Leo to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version but the audio was good.

What other book might you compare Leo to and why?

It compares to most romance novels. You see the ending coming a mile away. Happy endings and childlike love

What does Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Excellent reading/acting skills

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No just easy listen very predicable

Any additional comments?

The only think that was completely irritating to me was the constant verbiage during the hot sex scenes with often was "Jesus" and "Christ". Not sure why those needed to consistently said.

NOT GOOD!!

The story had so much potential but it fell flat fast. The initial stalking bit was intriguing and Evie was ditzy by approaching him but also strong. After that she became the most annoyingly trusting naive woman I have ever read about. She was just dumb. She didnt have a backbone and she gave into everything. Very disappointeding story.

Credit Worthy? Yes! On Sale for $5.95? Bingo Great

Leo and Evie he had very rough childhoods that left them both in the foster care system.
However, when they met, they knew at their young ages that they were meant to be together forever.

Fortunately/unfortunately, Leo was adopted as a teenage boy at 14 years old.

That left Evie in the system at age 12. The night before Leo left they shared their first kiss and promised each other forever. Leo promised to write and to come get her when she turned 18. Evie never heard from him again.

The story jumps ahead many years and Evie is living her life to the best of her ability, with her past and a broken heart.

She has friend, a steady job and is content and she should be. One day she notices a man following her…

This buy was a shot in the dark, as I'd never listened to anything be this author or these narrators. This is an excellent book with stellar narration.

Note: maturity themes & strong language

Definitely creditworthy or purchase out right. I would recommend without hesitation to those who enjoy the genre of contemporary romance with a bit of, shall we say, adult activities.

Very intriguing and full of passion

Would you listen to Leo again? Why?

Sure....it is a very interesting story with some twists that I did not see coming at all.

Which character – as performed by Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden – was your favorite?

Female main character. She was likeable and real.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I finished it in 2 or 3 days

Thought Provoking!!

Truly thought provoking and heart wrenching. This was the first time I'd read/listened to Mia Sheridan. I was impressed by her style of writing and, in this case, the content - a subject very empathetically and sensitively covered.
The story was brought to life by Maxine Mitchell, Narrator - in my opinion she is in a class of her own.
I would certainly recommend this book
