Beautiful love story

This was a really beautiful love story. It was so wonderfully written; how the story takes us to the World War II era in England and the love story of this beautiful, smart British woman and this equally wonderful, loving American man. Their love is unexpected and explosive and just too much, until it is no more. At the same time we learn about her great-granddaughter and her own love story, as in parallel with so many similar situations. Wow! I cried a lot! And definitely loved it! I need more books by this author in my life. This was my first one.

One of the best books I’ve read this year! I don’t do spoilers so all I’m gonna say is . . . You won’t regret using a credit card!

Exceptional

I listen to hundreds of books a year on Audible. I very rarely feel the need to write a review. This is a book I HAD to write a review about. This book captivated me. I couldn't stop listening. It was also heart-wrenching so be prepared to cry. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants a good romance and a cry.

parallel love stories, have tissues

This was my first read by this author and won't be my last. I loved her writing style - fresh voice, polished writing, agency of characters, rich historical detail, emotional backstory and development - all of it kept me turning pages (or rather, listening - fabulous job by the narrators with the audiobook). It was a heart-wrenching read toward the end and with a twist (I sort of expected it but appreciated the turn of events nonetheless - have tissues!). I liked Georgia and Noah's dynamic and arc. Scarlet and Jamieson took a bit more for me to get into, but I did fall into a rhythm with the back and forth of time lines of then and now. The historical research shows. I loved all the side characters as well. So good. Highly recommend. Looking forward to another read from Rebecca Yarros.

I don't know how many times I cried

The book is amazing. READ it!!! even though you will cry, get angry, and be so happy for the characters!! It is 2 love stories in one, past and the present, it is so heartbreaking, so beautiful and so amazing. It makes you yearn for what they have. It also doesn't help that in the beginning of reading this, me an my boyfriend had a conversion that he may want to break up. So my emotions are everywhere. I still have 3 hours left in the book. an me and my boyfriend are on better terms now, but we're still undecided on both sides now... I want to be loved like that and to love someone in the same way, but with what my boyfriend has said to me, I don't know if he is it... When I thought he was or could be up until these conversations. P.S the personal stuff I just needed to see somewhere other than my head an to also give insight to my opinion.
