Publisher's Summary

The New York Times best seller...

People come into our lives. Some stay, and many go. Some build us up, while most tear us down. They become our friends, our enemies, our lovers, our tormentors.

Christian Davison came into mine, and I knew I'd never be the same.

To Elizabeth Ayers, New York City had always been a dream. She's worked her entire young life to make it here.

Groomed to one day take over his father's law firm, attending Columbia University was Christian Davison's only option. Neither wanted anything more until they sat across from each other at a café table after being paired as study partners.

Christian wants her, but Elizabeth knows better than to give into their intense attraction. Yet there is little she can do to stay away. Lost to You is the prequel to the best-selling romance Take This Regret. A new-adult novella, recommended for listeners 17 and up. It's unnecessary to have listened to Take This Regret to enjoy Lost to You.

Sappy

I started out liking the book, but then it got really sappy. We are to believe that the couple has such strong and overwhelming feelings for each other and they are only kids?

Redemption

1st off, I'm a huge A.L. Jackson fan... recently met her in person. So saying that I hated one of her books makes me sad. LOST to YOU was a bit of redemption for the first book in this regret series. HATED it so much, I almost did not read LOST to YOU, but it was already in my library so thought I might as well. Although short, it was much better and kinda tied the loose ends of the first book together. Made me feel slightly better about the relationships of these two. I did not realize it was a prequel to the story. I'm happy I decided to read it, but will not be reading any others in this series. Too much regret for me... Good thing I started my love of Jackson books with "bleeding rock stars". Her writing style has climbed to the top. And her characters have much more substance.

Emotional

A very good start to the Regret series of books. I fell in love with both characters and felt their love for each other.

The summaries spoiled it for me

Knowing the outline of the series beforehand, I kept growling at the stupid behavior of these two kids. But I have to look back on myself at 20 and remember how much of a ignoramus I was then too and try to be charitable.

I’m totally in love with Andi Arndt’s voice.

My Two Pennies

Andi Arndt is phenomenal with the narration of this story. I was consumed listening to the words flowing beautifully through my headphones. This is my first book I’m reading in this series and I’m hooked. Christian is working his ass off in law school at Columbia University but he’s also the ladies man and knows he doesn’t need to try hard in that area. When he gets paired up with Elizabeth for a class a friendship blooms and a clear attraction that is fought too. I adored this novella and seeing the man Christian transformers into. I cannot wait to jump into Take This Regret, I’m hearing nothing but rave reviews.

Too short but just right story of love

If I had to find a criticism for this book, it would be that it is too short. I needed more, at east an epilogue, although I believe there are others in this series perhaps. Ms Arndt narrated beautifully, handling both parts quite well. The storyline, while not cutesy nor wildly original, handily told the age-old tale of love-emotion-and-leave-em playbook type falling hard for "the one," when he finally allows himself to let love in. And how Christian humbles himself to Elizabeth was done remarkably well by author and narrator.

made me a bit bleary eyed a few times

They are young, but really great characters so far. Boy and girl are partnered to study together. boy spoiled rich kid - girl is poor hard worker. boy likes to party "to drown his sorrows" - girl is focused - WILL NOT LET BOY IN!

A Sweet Prequel

Sweet series prequel written by talented author AL Jackson. This audiobook establishes the back story for the Take This Regret series. And I now can't wait to listen to the rest. The narration, particularly Arndt, was solid. I strongly recommend this series to all New Adult Romance lovers.

Great series prequel!

I love AL Jackson's books! This audiobook is an excellent set-up to the series, with characters that invoke empathy and emotion. I can't wait to listen to the next book. The narration by the wonderful Andi Arndt was very good, but I wish there was another voice for Christian. That's just my personal preference, she did a fine job.

Beautiful story of young love

Christian and Elizabeth's story was gorgeous. Reading them slowly fall in love with each other, even though they tried not to. Another beautiful story by Al Jackson! And of course amazingly narrated by Andi Arndt.
