Reread #3

This is my third reread but first in audio format.
I’m not a fan of Ava’s voice.. She sounds like she’s whispering loudly.
I also wished they’d use Aiden for all male lines (even in Ava’s POV) and Cindy for all female line (even in Alex’s POV)
I still very much love this book tho and can never get tired of it!

WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO PICK THIS ONE UP!

I finally listened this super popular book and man was the hype real! The narrators did an amazing job and I would definitely recommend the audio. They truly brought the story to life in a spectacular way!

As for the story, it was so so good! I enjoyed this one immensely. I'm a sucker from some dark senses so this one was right up my alley. Alex and Ava were perfectly written for each other. Their chemisty was through the roof. I loved their interactions and those steamy scenes... 🥵!!

The plot was good. A little predictable, but not enough to where I was losing interest. The characters alone make you want to keep reading, or listening. But, the storyline was interesting nonetheless. With Alex wanting revenge on for his family and Ava's traumatizing childhood coming to light, I'd say it'll keep you invested. Along with the beautiful love story, it was a solid 4 star book for me!

Love the story but the narrator…… ruins it.

The voice and the weird whispering but yelling whisper… the worst. Also chapter 14 I’m 100% positive I kept hearing her stomach growl during the narration….

FMC narration needs redone

I normally can tune out annoyances with narration as the story goes on. The issue I had with her is that she had this constant feigned shock reaction to evvvvverything. She constantly sounded like she was hiding under her blankets and whispering this book at us as if someone might hear her. When she would pause between sentences you could hear her throat and stomach gurgling. This became even more prevalent around chapter 10-14. I finally gave up at chapter 14 and returned the book. I’m going to go finish this on KU. The story has promise and I wish I could have still enjoyed the male narrator but she really ruined this.

Good ... But

Great story. Good story. It took me a minute to get used to the woman who narrated the book.... all the whispering threw me off.
