Publisher's Summary

'Calm for me is less about thought and much more about feeling. It is a stillness that allows my lungs to expand like hot air balloons. It is an acceptance of the noise around me. It is a magic alchemy that might last a second or a whole day, where I feel relaxed yet aware; still yet dynamic; open yet protected....'

In today's always-on world, for many of us it seems impossible to relax, take time out or mute the encircling 'noise'. It is easy to feel trapped in this frenzied state of mind: we are surrounded by negative stories in the press, weighed down by pressures from work, family life or school and subject to constant scrutiny under the all-seeing eye of social media. As a result, mental health illnesses are on the rise in every age group, and more of us than ever before yearn for silence, peace and calm.

Calm is Fearne's mission to find the simple things that can inch us away from stress and over to the good stuff. Including expert advice, conversations with wise friends from all walks of life, easy ideas to try, activities to complete - and the little things that have made a difference to her own sometimes bumpy life, this book is a friendly reminder that calm is a place that exists in us all: we just have to find our way back to it.

Another fab book, but would have liked to less reliance on the accompanying pdf

As the owner of ‘Happy’ and the ‘Happy journal’ (both hard copies), I was delighted to engross myself in another of Fearne’s books, and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
I just would have liked more of content to be available to listen to, rather than having to refer to the ‘accompanying pdf’. It’s understandable that some of the exercises needed to be in paper form, along with the beautiful illustrations. However, I would have liked to have been able to listen to all the interviews and anything else which could have been suitable via audio. That said, thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next!

Lots of laugh out loud moments

As a mother of two very lively children, I understood and agreed with all of this book. I listened on Audible as I drove my mum and children home from Ireland, it was a long 13 hour journey but whilst in the car and the other three were sleeping, I listened, laughed, got emotional but loved every chapter of this book - if you need help to find that ‘happy’ place - listen
If you need time out from a hectic life - listen - it will help you understand you are not on your own 😍👍 xxx
Thank you Fearne 🤩 xx

A great self care book

I had no idea what to expect from this book, but I want to listen to it all over again and again and really engage with the worksheet and really get to grips with becoming calmer. There are so many areas I just said...that's me... That I can see I can change and become calmer from working through this again.
Fearne is so down to earth, tells it like it is, doesn't mince her words, and is generally able to get me to listen and know I can make changes.
I loved the book, now it's time to go back and read happy!

Waste of time.

I now feel like I know Fearne Cotton inside out! There’s nothing outstanding or helpful with this book, it really is just about how Fearne Cotton perceives her own life and surroundings. I found about 5% of this book helpful. Also my oh my how many times did Fearne mention the accompanying pdf???? Wow far far far too often.
I do actually really like Fearne Cotton but as an author and narrator it just didn’t work for me.

Even Better then Happy

If you could sum up Calm in three words, what would they be?

Fun
Excellent
Logical

Which character – as performed by Fearne Cotton – was your favourite?

Fearne is brilliant at reading this book with lots of expression when needed - You feel a real connection with her and the topics she is covering. She explains her struggles in life and I found myself relating to lots of them and really listening to her suggestions on dealing with them again should they come up.

Any additional comments?

This book is an absolute must for the panickers in and of life.
Fearne explains clearly and methodically her feelings and also her solutions to these. She is honest and upfront, mentioning her lessons made from mistakes and mostly looking at the bigger picture. I loved this book
