Publisher's summary

My plan was perfect. My friend needed a date, and my brother's best friend was single. Problem solved.

Until I saw Jaeger for the first time in years, and sparks flew in the wrong direction.

Jaeger has grown up and bulked up. But that shouldn't matter because I have the perfect life. Really.

Only, my plans are beginning to unravel, and now, visions of Jaeger's hard abs, broad shoulders, and intense green eyes fill my head.

I should hold back in case my friend is interested. Or in case of a million other reasons. But if Jaeger isn't willing to play by the rules, I don't think I can, either.

"Addictive and marvelously refreshing." (Rumpled Sheets Blog)

"Realistic characters and smart writing." (Lauren Layne, USA Today best-selling author)

First book of 250+ I truly struggled to finish

If you are over 25 in my opinion you are too old for this book. I out loud groaned and eye rolled more times than I can count. The supposedly smart lead woman is immature, unbearably dramatic and jumps to the very worst conclusions on the flimsiness of "evidence". The lead was so completely insufferable that I truly struggled to finish the book. I wish I could say it got better. I was going to continue in the series, but I don't have that many eye rolls in me.

Cute but very problematic in various ways

The beginning storyline was cute but it began to drag on after the author repeatedly added new plots when the book could have already finished. It would have been better if it was a little shorter and she had used other plots in a separate book.

Secondly, there is a large amount of content surrounding sexual abuse. Two women and two men are sexually attacked. Then the people who attacked them never received any punishment. The women just pushed aside their valid feelings about being almost raped and never told any authorities about it when it would have made sense for them to do that. If you are sensitive to that topic, I would listen with caution because that topic is repeatedly brought up.

Tween drama set in post-college setting

I found the story very superficial and slow-moving. The narrator contributed to that with her over-the-top characterizations; if I wanted to listen to something like this I would hang out with middle schoolers.

Say Names Correctly PLEASE!

The narrator mispronounces the name Jaeger a million times and it’s driving me crazy. She say JAY-ger instead of YAY-ger. I cannot listen to the rest of the book...you can’t be in love with someone you’ve know forever AND NEVER LEARN TO SAY THEIR NAME PROPERLY. It would be like someone repeatedly calling Jose JOE -say every other sentence.

What The Actual F?!

This book was HORRID. Take all the negative reviews seriously. I wish I had. I don’t know how many times I yelled at the story to tell characters they were IDIOTS.

Calli’s “boyfriend” in the beginning? Uh. What? If neither of you feel like talking to the other person for two months…how the hell do you justify feeling any kind of bad feelings? And why the hell did he call her in the middle of the book? There was literally no point to that at all.

As others have mentioned, the handling of sexual abuse at their job is disgusting. Why were there no police reports filed? No complaints made to management in a place that supposedly has cameras everywhere which would give proof? This is an absolute abomination. Not to mention, a subplot that never went anywhere. It was 100% not necessary.

Speaking of subplots, let’s talk about the number of subplots in this book that were junk and never resolved. I understand there are more books in the series, but there were so many unresolved subplots, but I’m sure not all of them are addressed. I don’t feel like wasting more of my life to find out. I would like to add that I’m normally not a person to notice these kind of holes. They were glaringly and unforgivably noticeable with this book.

At the end of the day, this book was a complete waste of time. I am disgusted that the main character is supposed to be an example of a “strong” woman. I don’t know how old this author is, but if this is her idea of a strong woman, the author herself needs some better role models.

I could rage more, but I think you get the point. Go find a better book. This one isn’t even good as a time killer. You will only end up finishing it, if you even do, just out of curiosity to know if it’s going to stay this terrible. It does. And then it gets worse.

Young adult romance

This one wasn’t my cup of tea, but that’s not the authors fault. It’s a well written young adult romance about figuring out your adult life before heading to graduate school.

Engaging Story For Me

I enjoyed the story. The narrator brought the characters to life for me. The story held my interest from the beginning. Love this author's work.

Great story!

Younger crowed but, still a great story with great writing. Narrator is spot on. Wish they had more of a dual story but, I can't wait to see how it progresses.

For the review that said it’s Yayger. I get what you are saying but….

Jaeger Pronunciation of Jaeger as a boys' name is pronounced JAY-ger. It is of German origin, and the meaning of Jaeger is "hunter". The similar sounding Jagur, a biblical place name, is an Aramaic name meaning "heap of stones; marker".

Never Date Your Brother's Best Friend

It was ok, a lot of unnecessary drama from his ex that really didn't make much sense other then to just cause conflict and ok yeah I get it we need some in contemporary romance but maybe let it be something that made more sense.

I will give him credit, when the ex was causing more issues he choose to find out the truth.

What I did like was her brother how he didn't freak out because his best friend has a thing for his sister. That part I really enjoyed because it was different from other brothers best friend stories.

I liked that narration.
