She's about to make a deal with the college bad boy....

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she's carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush's attention, she'll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice, even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

...And it's going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he's worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he's all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn't take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn't going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Would you listen to The Deal again? Why?

yes absolutely, this story had substance. It was more than just your typical romance dealing with some pedestrian drama. This story delved into Hannah's past and her struggles and really took something traumatic and gave the reader perspective. Her character grows and becomes stronger throughout the course of the story. I think it was a fantastic listen and it was way more than I expected.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hannah - she is smart, independent and strong. She allows herself to be seen, to be vulnerable and put her trust into the hands of someone she initially hated.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei Avalon – was your favorite?

I have to admit not loving the narration. It wasn't unlistenable by any means but it just didn't add to the audio. The story is strong enough and has enough hooks in place to keep you thoroughly engaged. Had the narrator been stronger this would audio would have blown it out of the park.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Garrett turns from annoying hockey bro to mildly entertaining guy. When Garrett turns from mildly entertaining guy to friend. When Garrett turns from friend to loyal trusted guard and confident. When Garret turns down all others for Hannah and she's totally oblivious to his puppy dog crush. His character when from annoying cocky frat bro TO sweet, concerned, loving and honest friend.

Any additional comments?

This was a nice surprise and I highly recommend. The story is funny and entertaining, and HOT, and deep. It's a slow burn kind of romance (my fav) cause when they finally come together the spark is intense.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I really love this book and Elle Kennedy. Her writing is so great and she is a great story teller. Would I recommend this audiobook to friends? Sure, because it is such a great story. The problem is the narrator. She is whiney and annoying.

What did you like best about this story?

It is written so well and so compelling that you want to know how it ends. But the narration was just eh. Different narrator could have make this book 10x more enjoyable to listen to.

Did Lorelei Avalon do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

No, I don't think she did. All her the characters sound the same. Maybe she made the woman sound a bit more whiney though. Either way, I did not enjoy her telling the story as much as I would have enjoyed someone else narrating Hannah and Garrett.

Really love this book and this author

I read this book years ago and loved it, I finally had to give it a listen so I could move on with the series. Unfortunately I didn’t love it near as much this time around but that is entirely because of the narration, the book itself is still great. Lorelei Avalon has a decent voice but it isn’t what I expected for Hannah, which I know is an entirely personal preference but it is what it is. Her cadence was extremely slow which ruined the flow for me because it made the difference between her and Christian Fox’s narration that much more noticeable. I had to increase the speed just to get her talking at what I consider a normal pace for a sarcastic college student. The slow cadence also ruined Hannah’s personality for me, she was an awesomely sarcastic character and I loved the back and forth banter between her and Garrett but it was really hard to get all that sass and attitude when Lorelei spoke so slowly (it sounded more like a pot head talking, especially when she kept drawing out duuuude)… it kind of took all the emotion out of her speech. Christian Fox on the other hand was great, I enjoyed his voices for both Garrett and Hannah. Garrett pretty much covered all the bases with Hannah; he went from annoying her, to having her tutor him, pretending to date her, to becoming her sex coach (or fluffed), then obviously falling in love. This was a great new age college romance with just a little bit of drama.

Overall, I adore the Off-Campus and Briar-U series’ so the book was wonderful. Engaging, hilarious and heartwarming.
But the NARRATION is so difficult to listen to. Well, the male voice is all right, but the woman is way too mature for this age group.
The audiobook is much more enjoyable in 1.4x speed

This Narration, i cannot

The female’s voice got on my nerves (sorry) .. but that aside, this was super cute & made me laugh at times. Highly recommend.
